So does Eric Gordon lead the league in scoring this year???
He'll average 23-25, which should put him in the top ten.
I thought he saw the floor better last season though and didn't just look to score. I hope he continues to expand on that and get his assists up to about 5 per game.
I think he'll be a better all-around player this season and not just a scorer.
I really like EJ and this brings him out of the shadows somewhat. I think the max he will avg is 25. this is not because he cant but I dont think he will force himself to score much more than needed and will look to get his teamates involved. If his mentality is set to average 28-29ppg then he WILL do it but at the sacrifice of percentages as mentioned about.
Gordon would need to average about 28ppg+ to lead the league in scoring. Meaning this team would have to average over 100ppg. They have good scorers and their second option is going to be All-Star Chris Kaman. I could see Kaman averaging 18ppg.
2010-2011 PPG
- Kaman: 18.5 PPG (2009-2010)
- Okafor: 10.3 PPG
- Ariza: 11 PPG
- Jack: 8.9 PPG
- Landry: 11.9 PPG
- Aminu: 5.6 PPG
- Belinelli: 10.5 PPG
Those guys alone averaged 77 PPG last season (Kaman in 2009-2010 since he was injured last season).
If anything, it was easier for Gordon to score in L.A. because there was only one other offensive force with Blake Griffin, on this team, there are at least five or six offensive threats.
I really dont think its a crazy prediction...EJ was averaging around 24 points per game before he got hurt and was almost top 5 in scoring...he spent the summer working on a post game and his handles looked much sharper in the summer league games he was playing in
who else does New Orleans have on their team to score??? One of the Beastie Boys and some guys who will only be allstars at their family reunion games
