Should be either Gordon or

Should be either Gordon or 'sota pick, not both. They could potentially get Lamb with that pick.

I am guessing working full time for ESPN would be awesome

But I am sure they have to work hard. Or at least some people do. Well, I like that Chris Paul trade. I think they should get both Gordon and Minnesota's pick, that is fair enough for having to give up one of the best players in the league. Hope it goes down and we only have to worry about where Dwight Howard goes. I am sick of the suspense.

I figure that the the pick

I figure that the the pick would be more valuable since it would give a potential buyer a new start

If I was the Clippers

I'm not sure I'm down with this deal. Eric Gordon is the best SG of anyone still on their rookie contract. And that Minny pick could be extremely high. I feel like it has to be one or the other to make this deal work. If I had to give up Gordon but I know Paul will sign an extension, then so be it. That Minny pick could be Lamb, Barnes, Ross, Beal, or Rivers. All could become a very good fit on a team that already has Paul, Ariza, Griffin, and Jordan with Bledsoe being a viable option should Paul get injured.

The league shouldn't be so

The league shouldn't be so greedy. I mean if they can get the wolves pick and they keep their own that's two possibly really high picks.(we all know the league rigs the lottery right?!) If I were an owner I would prefer the pick far above Gordon who won't resign with the team.

Let's not undervalue Gordon

Let's not undervalue Gordon here, he's a much more complete player than people give him credit for and where he lacks in height he makes up for in length and strength. That being said, if they Clippers deal doesn't work out because league is asking too much then what is a better offer from a team that CP3 would be willing to resign with and traded to? Honestly, not alot of options out there so the league has to take out either Gordon or the pick.

They have to get another team

They have to get another team included I think....I don't know if another team wants to put up with the headache just so the Lakers can get CP3

It's not about what's fair... It's about who has the most leverage and the upper hand. The Hornets have zero leverage.

And the Lakers being back in the deal doesn't make sense. I think the NBA is just using them for leverage with the Clippers.

Man....

I've seen the Clipper progress so far and they're up to par with what OKC is doing. But to get rid of EJ, Aminu, Bledsoe and "more than likely" top 5 pick for a player that is great but unhappy for a maximum of 2 years is very hard to phantom. With all this trade talk, I wonder what this does to EJ's mindset. I have him a lock in next year's olympics. (defense, shooting). It's unimaginable to think EJ would be on the market in the first place. I would live with Aminu, Kaman (expiring contract), 1st round pick. Which should be enough. Worst comes to worst trade Blesoe, even thou he has tremendous potential.

The reason we post stuff

The reason we post stuff faster than ESPN, is because we catch it from Broussard, or Stein, or Wojanowski's twitter, and we post it within 5 mintues, where as Stein and Broussard take 15.

I think we are all underalueing Chris Kaman. He is under 30, and when healthy is a top 5 center in the league. Yes, he has a sound post game and rebounds well. He put up 18 and 9 just two seasons ago, and was hurt alot last year. But if you look at the per 36 minute stats, the stats from 09-10 are almost identical to 10-11, even if he only played in 35 games. I don't trust Jordan, so If I give up Kaman, I would want Okafor instead of Trevor "I love to shoot threes!" Ariza. If you get Okafor, that gives you an unheralded height advantage, which is how champions are built. I don't like this trade too much, but it's still pretty good nonetheless.

clippers should just forget

clippers should just forget this trade they are nowhere near a fair deal and the league is making a harder stance than any team ever would. They should just move forward with their core and hopefully pick up a solid player with that unprotected #1

I agree that the Hornets

I agree that the Hornets should get either Gordon or Minny's pick not both to go along with last year's 8th pick in Aminu and Kamen who still has talent and trade value. Stern has turned into a Somalian pirate during these trade talks. The worse part is that the Clippers wanna do it so bad because having Paul on board guarantees the playoffs. If I'm Paul I'm telling the league that they have 2 options. 1, I play out the year in Nola in leave as a free agent and you guys get nothing back. Or 2. I go to the Clippers to team up with Eric Gordon and Blake Griffin and whatever you get in a trade back make sure it aint Griffin or Gordon. And If I'm Paul I can't think of a better team to go to as a PG with Griffin catching oops and Gordon spreading the floor raining 3's Paul won't see easier assists. This Clippers team would resemble the old Nash/Amare/Matrix Suns.

Leverage

It's not about what's fair... It's about who has the most leverage and the upper hand. The Hornets have zero leverage.

In normal circumstances, I would agree with you. But, in the "NBA owners are being hard @sses and refusing to trade Chris Paul for bull$hit value" circumstances, I think they do indeed have leverage. If the Clippers do not include both of these things, chances are that Chris Paul will likely find a different venue. The chances also are, he probably stays where ever he goes.

The Clippers can only use their cap room as leverage if Paul does not get traded elsewhere and like that place. So, if they do indeed think Chris Paul gives them a better chance of winning, than they have a better shot at getting him now as opposed to waiting for free agency or for another team to outbid them. With the second scenario seeming very probable, I say the Hornets do indeed have some leverage.

Trade that needs to happen

Why doesn't OKC try to trade for Chris Paul, Westbrook is really good but he doesn't fit chemistry wise.Harden is ready to roll and pairing him and Durant on the wing is tough for any team to defend. Since New Orleans wants young players with potential and draft picks, OKC could use a point to distribute and the Clippers could use another star to go with Blake I think this would benefit all parties involved. How does this look

- New Orleans gets: Bledsoe, Gordon, Aminu, Kaman, & 2 1st round picks(1 from OKC & 1 from LAC)

- OKC gets: Chris Paul, Okafor

- LA CLippers gets: Westbrook and Ariza, and Muhammed
