Good day to all, i was watching this when i was a child, this anime give birth to my love for Basketball, who watch this Anime?

its about a highschool trouble maker in japan who was very very very raw, all he can do was Jump high and has hieght, he didn’t even know how to dunk the ball, he was recruited to the Basketball team by a Girl who he has a crush on, The was the Bobcats of this day, always losing, but they got the best center in there district playing there and a pass first Point Guard who is small but quick, the story is based on the Development of the Main player, Hanamichi Sakugari, in time, developed a smooth Jumper and in the End of the Anime, he suffered a serious Spine injury that needs a year to recover, and sadly he lost his basketball skills, but will be back for the team in his Junior year, to be develop again,

    My question is,

who would be the comparison of these guys in the NBA

    Hanamichi Sakuragi-

    Ryota Miyagi –

    Takenori Akagi-

    Hisashi Mitsui-

    Kaede Rukawa-

Did you seriously just post this? First off how the heck did you find this? Second why would you ask this? haha. And third how the hell could we make a comparison off these characters? I have not even heard of it till now, so it is impossible for me to make a comparsion! And if you think I am going to watch an anime just so I can compare these made up people to NBA players, well your nuts! I have not watched an anime since I was like 10 and I watched Dragonball, and I am not starting now! Please never post such rubbish ever again!

It clearly says "Anime" in the title. If you don’t like it then don’t click on the subject. What’s the point in pitching a fit about it?

who would be the comparison of these guys in the NBA

    Hanamichi Sakuragi- Dennis Rodman

    Ryota Miyagi -Chris Paul

    Takenori Akagi-Dwight Howard

    Hisashi Mitsui- Ray Allen

    Kaede Rukawa- Kobe

was whenever Sakuragi would mess with his coaches face and the coach would just sit there lol.

Overall it was an addicting manga but I hated the end (like last 20 chapters or so).

Eyeshield 21 and Tsubasa are much better (but they Football and Soccer- not Basketball)

Watched this alot when i was younger, it’s a shame that the anime finished so suddenly, the manga continued where it finished, but even then, the manga finishes after one season of high school basketball.

The main character is an idiot but can be a genius. The main character is a tribute to Dennis Rodman who is one of my favourite players of all time, so if you liked Rodman, you’ll pick up on certain things. This was all created in the 90’s, so expect some nostalgia from the players and the team jerseys.

The beauty of this anime/manga is every character is fleshed out really well and they all at some point individually become the main character.

In terms of the author’s work, he’s now doing two on-going comics, Vagabond another manga version of the famous story of the Japanese samurai Musashi Miyamoto and the other is Real, a manga about wheel-chair basketball which is surprisingly enthralling, i’m not much of a anime or manga fan but the author’s work is excellent.

Overall i’d recommend it to ages 15-20 considering that it’s staged in high school but any basketball fan can appreciate this.

i also watch tsubasa, though unrealistic, a goal on the halfcourt (i dont know wat it is called, halfline maybe), in Slamdunk, a bit more realistic, also with hieghts, they use the asian hieghts, which is small, hahaha

    by the Way,

    who would this players be?

    Sendoh-

    Fujima-

    Hanagata-

    Maki-

    Ouzumi-

personally i think Ouzumi is Orstertag, all height and heart, but less skills,
