Bankroll PJParticipantDo the early struggles of both Labissiere and Ingram mean anything? Both of these players are struggling early on yet still show their off potential. Both of these players have been mentioned as potential superstars and locks for the top 10. Is anyone falling off their bandwagons yet or concerned about their NBA outlook?

AdamJCallejaParticipantSkal has such a much slighter frame than I thought & he’s a pretty good athlete but definitely nothing special. I’d take him in the top 10, maybe top 5 but definitely not #2

BeastMode716Participantfall out…. remember last year Kevin Looney & Cliff Alexander were both in the top 10 of most mock drafts I saw…. I think both Labissiere & Ingram will be fine but sometimes I forget how young these guys are…. You just never know how guys will develop.

Magic JordanParticipantSkal has been struggling? I feel like he is performing at an alright clip. Prior to seeing him in College he was my definite number 2, with Jaylen Brown and him extremely close.
Skal has a very nice offensive game. I love his jumpshot. But he really is skinny. It looks like he has very little room for growth as well. I don’t think he will ever reach 240. I think he will struggle playing 5 at least until he gets his man strength. Maybe not defensively, but he will really struggle to rebound.
Jaylen Brown though. He is already a grown man. He’s definitely number 2 in my eyes at this point.
Not as sold on Ingram yet. I like his potential, obviously somebody that long who can shoot has world of potential. But he is paper thin. And he isn’t as good of an athlete as people try to make him out to be. Sure he can jump high, and he’s long… but that isn’t the only part to athleticsm. Some people on here have said they see him playing the 2 and there is no way. He cannot move his feet well enough for that. To me, he looks a little slow footed even for a 3.

he_gets_bucketsParticipantI think Skal’s skill was significantly overhyped – people were making it out like he was a lights out shooter and an amazing perimeter player for his size, but he’s been just okay from distance and his face game has been average as well. Post game next to non existant. Haven’t thought he’s been amazing on defense either. No where near the prospect pre-season hype reports of him were saying he was, near or better Simmons at some sites.

IlladelphParticipantHe has not struggled per se. His last game against ill st he was invisible, but in every other game including kentucky’s thrashing of duke he looked great. Ingram on the other hand I think is disappointing so far based on the ridiculous hype he got as a high schooler. It’s too early to judge either one but any concerns about strength are overblown. They are both young guys who are still deceloping. AD was skinny in college and look at him now… Much stronger and still getting stronger every year. Ingram and Skal will remain high on mock drafts based on potential… Huge upside with both but based on what I have seen of both, I think Skal has more upside.

Memphisboy14ParticipantSkal I felt has really only struggled in 2 games. He hasn’t been spectacular but I think the thing we need to do for both of these guys is to wait and see how they adjust. As I’m posting Brandon Ingram has 18 points in the first half against Indiana. Skal could very well go off tomorrow against UCLA. These guys sometime take a little while to adjust. I remember vividly watching Andre Drummond, and Derrick Favors struggle in college only to become very good NBA players.

Gold ChainIngram with 24 points and 4-6 from 3 against Indiana tonight.
Welcome back aboard the Ingram wagon.
I’ll take a skinny SF with center length and a 3 point shot over a super skinny PF with the same length any day.
Unless the super skinny PF gets really good from 3 point land, and a bruising center is on the roster next to him.

MopgrassParticipantI have been and will be defending Brandon Ingram all year. He’s my #2, very very slightly ahead of a more sure thing: Jaylen Brown. Yes, he has a great shot, but alsp, his drive to the basket in HS was incredible and unstopable. Now he still can always get a shot off on the drive, but he is out muscled. He should end up with a Kwali-type body (not a comparison of how they play) and that should help him incredibly.
Watching drive in college reminds me of Wiggins’s drive (not a comparison of overall ability). Wiggins looked like he was forcing it on the drive and NBA spacing should help that. With some pounds and spacing, Ingram could be amazing. I’ve seen spurts of great defense and he could be a complete offensive weapon. There’s a lot of upside.

SkalAndJamalParticipantSweet sixteen, 0-3, 1 pt, 2 rebs.
This was Karl-Anthony Towns stat line vs an undersized west virginia in MARCH madness, so what im saying is making judgements in November is not very wise.
SEC got some other impressive bigs so let’s see if he can change things around against even higher level competition. I am pretty confident Calipari will get to him and Skal will find a groove by February…

CU.LIONSParticipantI agree it’s too early to tell one way or the other . But I am hoping they both continue to get better and better. The odds are greater that Boston will not get Simmons, so I hope there will be at least some good consolation prizes.

Gold ChainIngram having an awesome game right now. His foot speed is plenty fast for SF and spot SG minutes in the NBA. Two/three monster blocks today, and a wide variety of scoring moves.
He’ll be in competition for #1 all year

Gold ChainIngram is starting to leave Skal in the dust, with an eye on Simmons.
There’s an increasingly strong argument for Ingram over Simmons.
