OhCanada-ParticipantSL basketball is so sloppy. To me Simmons still looks like a 6’10 Rajon Rondo and in the half court it hurts too watch. 35-mpg of defenders daring him to hoot.
Russell has worked on his body. Looking a bit more athletic/explosive. Nice drive/dunk.

IndianaBasketballParticipantSimmons has no confidence in his jumper… Shooting a jumpshot for him is like an "in case of emergency" option. The crowd was begging for him to shoot it on one possession.

properbreaksParticipantI can’t understand why Simmons doesn’t try to score. Every play he’s looking to pass the ball and get an assist. What he doesn’t realize is that the people that he is passing the ball to aren’t going to do anything with it and he’s actually the best option. So we got to experience a terrible half of basketball. He needs tough coaching in the worst way!

mowestenParticipantSimmons has a long way to go, there’s no doubt about that. He really can’t score at this point. But … His passing is flat out special folks. He’s one of the best I’ve ever seen already, not quite in the Magic, Nash level, but he’s legit. He defers A Lot right now, and that IMO is why LSU stunk this year. They needed him to take over, and that’s not his personality. He’s got to improve not only his ability to score the ball, but his willingness.
Ingram, man I wouldn’t have even known he was out there. You definitely know Simmons is out there, good, bad or whatever, he’s got the ball and is in the middle of things. I grams got to find the weight room and lock himself in there for two years lol

NBAjunkie81ParticipantD’Lo was Awesome in the 2nd half….. D’Lo & TJ McConnell must have a personal war going on b/c it was clear the last 5 min Simmons let McConnell go toe to toe w/ D’Lo
& they were both looking good…… Although McConnell is obviously not at Russell’s level
I;d be worried about Ingram though….. Jerami Grant completely took his heart….. W/ No help, Grant just shut Ingram down & reduced him to a Jump shooter….. Lakers took him out for a Long period b/c it looked like he lost his confidence……. but he hit a few J’s in the 4th qtr & rebounded nicely……
It’s amazing how much these guys Improve in one year…. other than Simmons, it was Clear who the 2nd year players were……

Hype MachineI was impressed again with Simmons. His teammates are going to run twice as hard knowing that if they get any form of separation from their defender…automatic buckets.
Brandon Ingram….. that was ugly but a learning experience for him. Needs to work harder to get the ball in dangerous positions.

SlickBouncePassParticipantIngram hit some shots in the 4th.
I loved the McConnell running over to Embiid after he hit the go ahead shot.
Embiid will be the leader of this team and Simmons will fit right in as amazing playmaker. Embiid has been the leader of this team from day 1, center of the huddle etc.
Jerami Grant – love his athleticism but zero skill. Can’t finish. I like him thoguh as a situational defender. He’ll get better as he matures. But IQ wise and skill wise very little there.
Stauskas – man he was horrible in the first half. We need more reliable big-game shooters. Is Ray Allen available? I don’t know who’s out there but we need some knock down shooters. Kyle Korver we need you.
TJ MC – this guy is the MVP of Sixers summer league squad. Plays really smart and I like his little midrange jumper. I thought he played as well as D’Angelo.
Lakers – Nance does nothing for me he’s just athletic. D’Lo and Ingram got scary in the 4th. Both guys locked down and started hitting jumpers. Thats why I love skill ball, heady tenacity. Simmons simply can’t do that in the 4th.
The hope is Simmons hits the midrange jumper and starts making teams respect him. Its the summer league, he has to start establishing that jumper now under cameras. And if you lose so what…you would have something to work on anyway. Don’t worry about media, just work on your game.
Simmons off pick and roll will be nasty too. Simmons and Grant really need to work on finishing. Its a good time to be a Sixers fan.

SlickBouncePassParticipantC – Embiid
PF – Okafor
SF – Saric
SG – Stauskas
PG – Simmons
Role Players
Noel – Bigman Bench
Grant – Defensive Specialist / Energy Guy
Covington – let’s be honest this dude should not be starting. He’s a chucker. He can do that off the bench.
Spanish PG – guard specialist
Damn we need some guards badly!!!

220ParticipantYeah. I think the lineup will look like this:
C. Noel/Embiid/Okafor (If all three are still will the team when the season starts they’ll each likely start at center at some point)
PF. Simmons (Yes he’ll handle the ball often, but he’ll be defending SF and PF mostly)
SF. Saric (Looks like he’s coming so I think he’ll start)
SG. Henderson
PG. Bayless
This could easily all change if Saric has a last second change of mind and/or if the 76ers make a deal for one of their bigs. As of right now and trusting Saric does come over then this is their likely lineup in my opinion.
0- Posted on: Sun, 07/10/2016 - 11:36am #1081688
SlickBouncePassParticipantall three will not be playing 1st 2nd and 3rd string center. That is not efficient use of their talents.
Simmons and McConnell have obvious chemistry.
I think you can easily start….
C – Embiid
PF – Oak
SF – Saric
Guards – Bayless and Simmons
Off the bench Gerald Henderson, McConnell, Grant, Covington, Noel,
Saric will be here, and he can guard Bellinelli. He can guard guards in the NBA, just like Simmons can.

220ParticipantI don’t think Brett Brown will start two centers agian this season. Okafor and Noel struggled together and the results will likely be the same with either of them paired with Embiid. If the plan was to play two centers together then the 76ers wouldn’t be so concerned with dealing a center before the season starts.

SlickBouncePassParticipantC – Embiid
PF – Okafor
SF – Saric
SG – Stauskas
PG – Simmons
Role Players
Noel – Bigman Bench
Grant – Defensive Specialist / Energy Guy
Covington – let’s be honest this dude should not be starting. He’s a chucker. He can do that off the bench.
Spanish PG – guard specialist
Damn we need some guards badly!!!

Ahkasi ClayParticipantLakers fans celebrating like this game mattered, love to see the enthusiasm, glad they finaly have something to have hope in after years of losing.
Simmons is fun to watch
Ingram looked out of place, ( but hey many greats had a bad game or 2 in summer League)
Wish Nance had more to his game, i really want him to be sucsessful.

daggers818ParticipantUm, 13 pts, 8 rebs, 4 asst, 7 steals, 4 blocks, great intensity, hustle, effort, team player. Kiilenko-like?
Yeah, I wish there was more to his game, lol! If you are talking about his jumper, it’s broken, but give him time. Karl Malone and Blake Griffin also couldn’t hit their a$$ with a handful of corn in their early years.
Love Nance on the Lakers.

sheltwon3ParticipantPhilly has to move one of their bigs because there is a huge logjam and it will be a problem at some point.

DanielcmccartyParticipantI think playing Simmons at the point guard spot will work when phily has their shooters on the court. Bayless and hopefully Stauskas if he can ever find his shot again. Saric is supposed to have a good 3pt shot as well. Simmons will average 8 assists per game if he continues to absolutely not look to shoot. So he may not average as many points as people have penciled him into average.
But these drop off passes to summer league players that are blowing it will eventually be dunks when it’s Noel, Okafor, Embid(if healthy). Still the summer league, so hard to say, because Josh Selby was a summer league MVP once upon a time.

SlickBouncePassParticipantSaric and Embiid every time we mention their names. Everyone knows the
Embiid if healthy,
Saric if he comes over. Saric literally told you he’s coming to the NBA. He’s on his way to Philly.
He’s here. The rest of the NBA can now exhale and try to figure out how you’ll beat our size.
Bayless, McConnell, Stauskas, Hollis Thompson…..God help me!
