Sixers next season

should they play small???
with lineup of:
Holiday, Turner, Iguodala, Young, Dalambert.
and strong bench of:
Lou Wiliiams, Meeks, Green, Kapono, Brand, Jason Smith, Speights.

i think they should play small cause they will be very fast team and it's play for the team strength, and even though it's a small lineup they have very good rebounders also in the guards and forwords. of curse they could go big in certain matchups.
i think for the last couple of years Sixers had a playoff talent team but they were very underachieve.
this year with the addition of Turner who i'm very high on i think they will be a playoff team, maybe also with a HCA.

has any team in NBA history

has any team in NBA history sustained any sort of playoff success "playing small"? Id agree that a holiday-turner-iggy-young-dalembert five is probably the best lineup they could toss on the floor if the season started tomorrow, but I really dont think you can sustain sucess in the NBA with no power forward if your center cant score. This is why I think the sixers are better off taking Favors. Speights isnt bad, and Turner is gonna be a stud, but they arent going to be able to trade Andre Igoudala with that hideous contract, and other than being a better ball handler, Turner doesnt provide much Iggy doesnt. I think Favors will be the best player in this draft. Im on the west coast but have some delux cable, so I saw Georgia Tech play a dozen or so times and I can tell you if favors, or Gani Lawal for that matter, had played with competent guards, wed be talking about favors as the top pick.

Turner is the pick for sure,

Turner is the pick for sure, no doubt about that, he is a franchise player, i think he could be better than Wall cause with his size, his skills and his great mentality he could be player that leat for titles.
Turner could be a first option player somthing Igoudala can't be, but it will make Igoudala life a lot easier and i think they could work together.
i think they could be successful playing small, look at PHX back then when they almost won title, it's also not that small cause all the players very long, they will have so much talent, many adventeges, they will be very fast team, they will have very good rebounders so being small could be fine, they could alsp play big part of the game and when needed but keep the running system most of time.
for next year i say try this and look where it take you.

I think the 76ers lineup will

I think the 76ers lineup will swap picks with Minnesota and take DeMarcus Cousins. That would allow us to have a nice frontcourt player who can potential be a 1st option scorer to provide alot of what Elton Brand was supposed to. I think Philly will still be building next year, which is good for a young team. Results won't be expected very much. Cousins won't be expected to be a 1st option as soon as he plays for us,and he'll probably start off games as a PF and then slide to C for extended minutes after in-game lineup changes. I think the opening day lineup will look like:

PG: Jrue Holiday
SG: Andre Iguodala
SF: Thaddeus Young
PF: DeMarcus Cousins
C: Samuel Dalembert

Of course, that scenario is hypothetical. If the Sixers just drafted Turner and went from there, the lineup would look like this:

PG: Jrue Holiday
SG: Evan Turner
SF: Andre Iguodala
PF: Elton Brand
C: Samuel Dalembert

Bench: Thaddeus Young, Louis Williams, Maureese Speights, Jason Kapono, Willie Green, Jodie Meeks, Jason Smith.

My Sixers Line Up, Again

i posted this in one of the other threads, so, i'll just paste it here again (with a little editing) since it seems appropriate for this thread:

The only trade rumor that seems to be making any sense to me so far (and the ONLY trade that i would do that involves the #2 pick, if i was the Sixers) is:

Trading the #2 and Elton Brand to the Wolves for the #4 and #16. With the #4, i would take the second best shooting guard in this draft: Wesley Johnson, if he's available. If he's not, then i would go for a PF like Favors or Patrick Patterson. Then with the #16, i would go with Avery Bradley who, if he's still available then, would be a flat-out steal at that spot for the Sixers. Then a starting line up for the Sixers next year of (assuming Wesley Johnson's been taken by the Nets at #3):

Derrick Favors (PF)
Andre Igoudala (SF)
Sammy D (C)
Avery Bradley (SG)
Jrue Holiday (PG)

isn't really that bad. With core players like Lou Williams, Thad Young, and Marese Speights coming off the bench, and you just stick with this kinda line-up so that they can develop some kinda chemistry together, and you (if you're a Sixers fan like i am) might just see them improve from 27 wins to 45 wins next year.

Minny would never do this trade. They are not taking EB's contract.

No.......

That won't happen because Doug Collins likes to play rough so I think they will trade down and with the fourth pick and try to get Monroe or Cousins, why.......here

Cousins: low post skills, size, strength, will get touches from Iguodala(playmaker), rebounding
Monroe: post skills, size, IQ, passing ability, rebounding, more scoring, defense

The Sixers need these two because Turner is a playmaker and they already have Iguodala, but their frontcourt needs help. Scoring is needed!!!!
