Sixers draft

At 15, who do you think the sixers should draft? I personally want doron lamb for them. He may be too high for 15 but this guy is a sleeper. He can shoot 3s in bunches. I just hope they avoid picking Meyers Leonard. I know they need a big man but he ain't that good offensively. I hope they draft for a talent not because of a need.

All good but not great

They can pray that Sullinger or Rivers fall to them or draft Terrence Ross or Arnette Moultrie

They can also package both # 2's and get Fab Mello or Festus Ezeli to develop for the future.

SG and PF is the greatest need....unless they pay Lou ...he may be gone. They have no bigs and reguardless how much money they clear anyone with a quality big is not giving them up ( with the exception of Utah because they have to many and no guards or forwards) ....and there is no one availible in free agency that they could get that will help them. They would have to overpay for OJ Mayo who is just ok and its a pipe dream to get Harden from OK.

I think that the sizes most

I think that the sizes most pressing need is PF. Arnett Moultrie would be a great fit for them as would Terrance jones. They would be lucky if Sullinger falls to them as he would be ideal as well. Rey can select from many guards with their second round pick as Kim English would be ideal for them there of he happens to fall.

PF

I don't think SG's a really pressing need with Turner on the team. If they move Iggy, then SF's a need. But I agree with rhofern- PF is their biggest need. Brand just isn't cutting it, and they need better bigs. I'm a bit hesitant to say Sully's the answer, since he has a similar game to Brand. Moultrie or Terrence Jones (of course if either of them are available) would be the best fits.

Perhaps it's because I was

Perhaps it's because I was just in the Jazz topic, but I think Jefferson for Turner really works for both clubs. Big Al fills a need at the 4 and 5, along with being a real top scoring option, while Turner can be the 1 in Utah, creatign a matchup nightmare when the Jazz ran out Turner, Hayward, Millsap, Favors and Kanter. That leaves the Jazz a shooting 3 from really getting dangerous, while Philly would, at that point, be favored in their division.

we expect to move Iggy when

we expect to move Iggy when or if we lose to Boston, and Lou is prolly gonna opt out, so is Meeks.. that saying we need scoring and shooting. Heres my take

First round- Meyers, Henson,Melo,Sidney... These three are bigs that we need, shot blocking, toughness. I like Henson is the perfect fit, but i would love to get Melo

2nd round- John Jenkins

Undrafted-Wayns - he is like Lou when it comes to scoring and he is from Philly, if he does not get drafted we will bring him in.

We need a PF, and keep Turner. Trading him is stupid.

I dsiagree. I'd say getting rid of Jrue or Turner is a must. They impede one another's development

We need to get rid of Iggy if we get rid of anyone. He's the one hindering their development.

Iggy isn't hindering anyones

Iggy isn't hindering anyones development but he does need to be traded. Sixers need a go to scorer and although Andre may be there best player he is only their 4th or 5th best scorer. He has the skillset to score but just not the mindset. If the Sixers had this much talent when the REAL AI was around they would have raised a couple banners. I would say a trade with Indy for Granger could benefit both teams. Not sure what the contracts look like but with the mix of young talent both teams have I could imagine a blockbuster deal could shake up both teams, who are on their way up but neither is going to challenge the Heat and Thunders of the world.

As for the draft with the squad as it sits now they need to go PF. Brand has been nice this season but he is overpayed and could possibly get amnestied this summer. Lavoy Allen appeared to show promise at first but he is very limited offensively after watching him the second half of the season. My ideal guy would be Terrence Jones even though he is not a pure PF. He is a very similar player to Thad Young but they would cause matchup nightmares for bigs around the league. Thad is the type of player you can't have enough of because of his versatility and how hard he plays. I see a lot of that in Jones and he proved to be a pretty good teammate this year after a questionable freshmen year at Kentucky. Moultrie would be pretty decent as well but I feel like he won't be around at 15.

What would you think of a

What would you think of a deal like that? The sixers have athletes they need someone who can put the ball in the basket on a consistent basis. I know many guys like that aren't always available but Granger seems like someone the Pacers might be willing to part ways with considering the rapid development of Paul George and the emergence of Hibbert inside. I think the Pacers could also use an elite perimeter defender to make themselves feel better about taking on the Heat in the playoffs.

Any other scoring SFs that could be helpful to the Sixers and available for Iggy and maybe a younger player or two as well? I would love seeing Rudy Gay in a Sixers uniform as well but I don't think Memphis would go for that.

I don't think the Pacers

I don't think the Pacers would really want Iguodala, they are more after a SG who can create his own shot.

I'd do the trade. Hollinger's

I'd do the trade. Hollinger's Win Loss projections even has it as an even deal. For Gay we'd have to give up more, and we'd have to throw in another contract with the deal since he is on the max I believe.

@rhofern- I dont think

@rhofern- I dont think Terrance Jones is a good fit at all. Thad Young and Terrance Jones's games are so similar. Both lefites, hybrid 3/4s who have a good handle for a big guy but dont neccessarily have the size nor elite athleticism to consistently start.

This is a quote from my post yesterday and don't think it is a bad thing at all to have a player similar to Thad. If you ask Doug Collins I guarantee he would take a team with 12 Thad Youngs on it over any other player on his squad. They would be giving up some size inside but could make up with that if they actually got a center who can defend the rim ala Theo Ratliff or Dikembe. I would take a Joelle Anthony type over Spencer Hawes because what Anthony gives you is consistent. Spencer Hawes looks like Spencer Haywood one game then the next 8 he looks like Spencer Pratt.
