SIXERS #2 PICK

MR.7000 Has brought it to my attention that the Sixers may pick Favors, with the #2 overall pick instead of Turner. I know they have a need at the 4-5 spot, but don't you think it would be logic for them to take Cousins? Brand hasn't panned out all that well and Dalembert may be on his way out the door. If they do decide on Favors, do you think that will be a good fit for him and the organization, due to the fact that they have Brand,Speights,Dalembert?

Sixers fans I would like to hear from you.

Yes

Yes it would be a good pick and this is why. Favors is a freak athletic with alien length. He one of the rare prospects that max jump height reach, the height you can jump n touch, is over 12 feet. That puts him in rare class. He got a 7'4 wingspan yet runs the floor faster then Turner does. Bottom line its not far fetched for Favors to have a dwight howard like impact in the league. But it also isnt necessarily likely n thats why im torn betwee Favors, Cousins, and Turner. I like Cousins alot too but who knows if he can stay in shape the last thing we need is another Eddy Curry alongside Brand but for the record i think Cousins is the real deal. If we get get the 4th n 16th from Minnny i think it makes it easier to take cousins. thats where im learning.

But both Cousins n Favors can play center on our team. N Speights can come off the bench to fill in either PF or C n score. while Brand keeps his starting job at PF. N Sammy is in the last year of his contract. CYA latr

I have mixed emotions. big

I have mixed emotions. big time sixers fan here from AC, NJ.....I feel they have more than 1 need so Going turner, Evans, or cousins would not be a bad thing.

With that said I see a trade coming from philly in this draft. I dont know which direction they will go in but i think there are several options. Minny for 1 will not get better with these 5 picks in the draft... An ideal fit for them would be TURNER IMO......

If philly drafts turner (iggy or thad is history).... Sammy D has 11 million coming off the books following the 2010-2011 season which makes his contract desirable now. Kapono is believe offhand has another 7-8 coming off the books. So philly definitely has some chips to play with...

I never really answered your question do to so many needs, but i feel we will make a GIANT step towards being competitive into the coming season.. Id love to somehow acquire K-Love or Al Jefferson. I actually prefer K love if thats even possible....maybe philly sends the #2 pick in the draft and thad to minny for K-love , the #4, and #16 picks... Not sure if money will need to be added in to match these up.

#4 pick nets up cousins, and the #16 maybe nets us say.. James Anderson. In that scenario we fill more holes from the door.

this would give us jrue, lou.....anderson, willie green, iggy, kapono, carney, brand, speights, cousins, jason smith, dalembert going into next yr...

Maybe all a pipe dream. IN same respect if they draft turner, maybe a Al jefferson / iggy deal could be possible.. Just some random thoughts, and wishes.

4+16 for 2???

I feel your mixed emotions mic. I would love Cousins (#4) at the 5, say Paul George (#16) at the 2 and K-Love (mr outside and passing) at the 4 with Iggy and Jrue. Not sure how they would do defensively (Iggy Jrue and Turner would be pretty nice in that regard).....

We need an heir apparent at the 5 (and 4 for that matter). Thad to Clips for DeAndre Jordan??

I would imagine that Speights

I would imagine that Speights is currently viewed as one of the sixers bigs of the future. Dalembert will either be traded this season or just play out his contract but won`t be back for the following year. Brand could go either way. Perhaps the sixers wait to see how things go this year with the new coach. Brand could still turn things around. He might be traded but he could be kept if he comes into this season healthy and in great shape.

In any event the only long term piece the sixers appear to have upfront is Speights. If the sixers choose to draft Favors he would fit in nicely with their long term plans. Favors is not ready to contribute reliable minutes and won`t be for his first 2 seasons. That will be right around the time Brands contract is ready to come off the books anyways. 2-3 years from now a combination of Favors and Speights could be considered quite formidable and a capable matchup with any front line in the NBA if they develop as players the way people envision.

Long term I dont know if Favors over Turner is the right decision but i can see the sixers logic behind it.

The only reason Favors fits

The only reason Favors fits better there is because he fits there up and down the court/run style of play. If they pick Favors there's no chance there making the playoffs next year. I promise you that they will be wishing they picked Turner at 2

i also heard a scenario of

i also heard a scenario of detroit giving us maxiell, and rip and their pick in first round for brand and the #2 pick.. this is really a DREAM.. I think were stuck with brand, but maybe in Detroits half court O brand would be some what desirable. They're rebuilding as well so its not out of the question, but again highly unlikely

LOL...I didn't mean to say #2

LOL...I didn't mean to say #2 pick. I meant to say #3, my bad.

I think Philly will select Evan Turner, and then after that they will explore trade offers (likely for DeMarcus Cousins). Derrick Favors' agent and those close to him have said that they don't get the feel that Philly is high on him, let alone likely to select him.

Favors doesn't really make us a better team, I think Cousins and Turner are much better fits.

Personally, I feel that the

Personally, I feel that the Sixers should draft Turner because who knows if Cousins or Favors will be great players in this league. I have read that Cousins has attitude issues and Favors is either going to be amazing or a bust. I'm pretty sure Turner is going to be amazing and he is the safest pick available. In this case, the Sixers should choose the best player available, which would be Evan Turner. Sixers get a good character player and a player with high potential who will work great with a coach like Doug Collins.

Speaking from personal experience as a Raptors fan, we drafted Rafael Araujo with the 8th pick and not choosing the best player available and we all know who we passed on and how that turned out.

Since the Sixers are in rebuilding mode. Select Turner and move onwards from there. Try and trade Brand and other pieces are start building from there.

NOOOOO!!!! ...Favors will be

NOOOOO!!!! ...Favors will be a disappointment...If he get drafted by a team who doesnt have a coach that demand he play with more determination...Dude was lazy at Georgia Tech..And everyone blames the guards..If the guards were so bad why is Udofia mentioned as possible All-ACC next year and Shumpert is a NBA prospect? I'm not saying he's going to be a bust... With his athleticism he can be another McDyess, if he becomes more active..But if he play like he did at Georgia Tech he's going to be another Stromile Swift...76'ers will regret not taking Turner or Cousins number 2......

Why is favors being able to

Why is favors being able to touch 12 feet when he jumps elite? Dwight Howard can touch 18 feet and lebron can touch even higher...Nate Robinson can touch 12 and he's a foot shorter so think before u f()ckin post

Yea my bad. I don't want

Yea my bad. I don't want Favors either. I just mis-wrote. I think Philly will take Turner.

I agree, I think Favors will be a disappointment and an underachiver.

Alright Philly Guys....

This is How it can go down...2nd pick (Evan Turner) for the 4th(Cousins or Favors) and 16th( Henry or George or Anderson) They fill two holes and get legit prospects....If they can get Cuz on the right path as the Center of the Future...We'll be great...Speights needs to start this year...Brand as the 6th man...Playing a platoon type of role with M16...Cuz will also get big minutes in place of Sammy...Henry or George would be great at 16th...Henry and Cuz would be a steal...Henry can defend and shoot the 3...Now with the 19 Million coming of the books next year we could get Lets say Gilbert Arenas...play him at the 2...(thats if you want a Scorer with some baggage this year) We could wait and see what happens next Summer...With Cousin and Henry for Turner done...I'd think Hard about trading Iguadola...but only for either a good big man(Jefferson or Kaman) and another pick in this draft...For a versatile Wing man of course...Iggy and the 2nd for Jefferson and the 4th and 16th could work...Iggy for Al straight up...Or Iggy and 16th for Kaman and the 8th pick...The Clippers would still get either Aldrich or Whiteside...

We could have Cuz and Henry with 4th and 8th pick...Swap Iggy for Kaman and Start Cuz at the 4...The big man rotation would Be Cousins/Kaman/Speights...Brand would play like a Leon Powe...that year the Celts won the Ring...Let Sammy/Jason and Willie come off the books and Go Hard after Melo or the next great SF(If Thad doesn't shine) Iggy and the 16th pick from Minny for Kaman and the 8th sounds good to me...We might throw them J.Smith add a big man for them...Baron,Gordon,Iggy and Blake make a strong team...Jordan and the big at 16 would have to get better fast but they still have money for a salary dump for a starting center(Think Camby trade from Denver) Maybe Ty Chandler or Dalembert for their 2nd rounder...both expire next year???

The 76ers should pick

The 76ers should go big with PF/C Derrick Favors or C Demarcus Cousins.

They have SF Thaddeus Young and SG/SF Andre Iguodala already at the wings.

The need Favors or Cousins because Brand and Dalembert aren't up to par anymore.

Brand + Dalembert = failure

A future of the broken down 31 year old Brand and Dalembert at the 4 and 5 = no playoffs for Philly and no contention for the title.
