Even though this is a bit off topic. Is anyone else as amazed as I am whenever I see an international basketball mix?

Their level of ball movement is astounding. It kind of reminds me of how most of the European teams play soccer. I guess it’s something in our basketball culture that we hardly see this kind of ball movement but I think it is a thing of beauty.

Wow! Taht is the anti Pau Gasol right there. No but seriously, this guy seems like a cross between Blake Griffin and Andrea Bargnani. There were not many shooting highlights, and there is a danger in watching a mix liek this in that it is only the highlights, but this guy can fly! I am hearing he is a 3 or a 4, but if he is quick enough to play 3, than that would be a matchup nightmare for anybody. If the Wizards draft him, as they are projicected to in most mocks, that would give them Wall-Young-Vesley-Blatche-McGee. That is not necesatily a playoff worthy lineup, but that present matchup problems for most teams. Guys 4-5 inches shoreter would be asked ot guard him. But one thing that is scary is his horrendus freethrow shooting 46% in Euro league and 51% in the NLB League. Taht raises major red flags, however his shooting percentage seemed good. and three point shooting improved dramatically in the NLB league.

Joe Alexander 2.0? Better dribbling and outside game, worse rebounder and interior game?

@ Ahkan you are so right about the ball movement thing on the one dunk I was like how the hell did Vesselly even get the ball, then I watched it ove and noticed their was a past to the wing who hand touched it to somebody cutting down the lane who caught it and immediatly pivoted and thru a beautiful pass to a cutting Vessely who was wide open because of the angle who he took it was a beautiful play.

But this guy is something special, he could dunk the ball if it was hanging out his armpit.  He consistently get’s his eyes level with the rim when he jumps and combine that with a 7’4 wingspan and that spells trouble.

The Wizards have to take this guy because watching Wall run up and down the court with him an McGee is worth price of admission alone.

aamir543 the knock on Vaesely is that he is a poor perimeter shooter. Yea he can make a few open shots but he is not a good shooter yet. The video, few jumpers that he made, is misleading. Since he struggles with European range it’s only going to get worse in the NBA. That said, he’s young and can improve his shoot.

He’s a mix between Joe Alexander and Andrea Kirilenko imo.

Seems much more fluid than Joe Alexander but yet somehow more limited in what he does. Looks to me like NBA level finishing skills. If he can defend, then right there you have an NBA starter. He doesn’t necessarily need an outside J in the NBA game. (I’m talking about being a starter for a poor NBA team, of course he needs a J to be All-Star, but no one is projecting him at that level.)

He seems to need a little bit of a running start to get those dunks up though. I’d like to see him just grab an offensive rebounds and pound it home. But with a running start he really looks like the rim is actually too low for him and he kind of gets bunched up getting ball back down there. Not too many guys have that problem.
