Good news for Knicks fans, rookie combo guard Iman Shumpert is said to be ahead of injury timetable and has been on the court since Monday doing light work. He could make a full return to today’s practice and even be ready for Wednesday’s game.

Thats really good news for the knicks. toney douglas is in over his head and looks to be competing with derek fisher for worst starting point guard in nba. hes good off the bench as a scorer but is a fringe starter. not saying shumperts the messiah but he plays D and isnt tentative as our other young players

I wish the Knicks would of built threw the draft they have a underrated eye for talent.. it worked out in the end I guess….. is it just me that thinks melo and stat don’t compliment each other as players? I think melo is trying to become a lil bit of a point forward to c

blazerman, i agree 100 percent with you. ive been watching every game of theres since the trade happened. and ever since we got melo, amare hasnt looked like the amare of old. i dont know whats up…  we need shumpert badly too. like someone said tony douglas is competing for the worst starting pg in the nBA, na dto me, IS the worst starting point guard in the nba. hed make for a good backup guard i guess. I dont even know if hes capable of that to be honest. AN D 1 more thing, mike dantoni is the worst coach in the NBA. (or one of them atleast) he is so bad at coaching its not even funny. i truly think the knicks should make a push at a real PG like steve nash or somebody cause with the pgs they have on the team they aint going anywhere…

I wish they would of got Chris Paul instead of melo it would be more of a balanced team and still offered Chandler that contract and oj Mayo while they were trying to trade him for dirt

Amare has looked off largely because his most effective spots have been removed since Melo plays off of them, and he hasn’t really been running his most effective play – the pick and roll.  I have no idea how or why Toney Douglas is shooting more than Amare, but the Knicks NEED to run some Melo/Amare pick and roll action.

He is a ball stopper, aint no pick and roll happening with him.

Amare was a MVP contender last season, well until the Melo trade. Their game doesnt completment each other, the Knicks should have kept Gallo and went after Deron Williams.

Did you watch the Celtics game?  Melo eviscerated them in the second and fourth off pick and rolls.  Since then, the Knicks have barely run it.  I don’t get it.  I agree the Melo trade was a poor one, but I’m dealing with the reality now, and the Knicks best chance for success is the Amare/Melo pick and roll.

melo and amare both prefer to be isolated on the right sode of the floor near thep elbow so they dont compliment eachother at all. and chandler clogs amares driving lanes. one scenario i think gets lost on most is trading chandler and amare maybe shumpert or fields to the magic in a package for dwight howard

No one wants to take Amare in a trade because of his knees and the fact that his contract is uninsured.

I haven’t seen him play yet. Is he that good?

ok amare’s favorite play IS NOT an isolation. it’s gotta be the pick and roll. and like i said before, melo cant do a pick and roll with amare that doesn’t end up in a pull up jump shot. i might be wrong on this one but shumpert looks like he’s more of an iso type of player as well….

If Baron gets heatlhy and back to his old ways he could be the missing link. Can certainly get Amare more involved.

unless he also reverts to shooting too much.

you sure get amare a lil more involved, he’ll get his oops… in exchange for a defensive HOLE at the pg position.
