He was one of the most impressive players I saw last year in college baskeball. I was impressed most with his ability to penetrate and find open shooters at the three point line. He has crazy hops and handle, and is a one man fast brake. He also looked good to me in half court sets with his ability to brake down the defense. He needs to improve his three point shooting, but thats coming along. With better players playing along side him he could tear defenses apart. Do you think he can step in and start right now?
Should he be a top ten draft pick?
For me I don't see Flynn as a top 10 pick. He is small and very skinny. I think he will get pushed around by most PG's. He also hasn't the ability to knock down outside shots with regularity. IMO I think that Rubio, Jennings, Lawson, Maynor, and Curry are better prospects. If I were in charge of a team I would draft those players before Flynn. That said I think some teams have diffferent opinions and it is possible he could sneak in the top 10. I see him as late lottery or mid first round pick.
I have no idea about this post. I saw Flynn play and he was crazy. People couldn't check him and he looked like a natural team player. He should go very high in this draft. He will work on his out side shooting and could be the biggest sleeper in this draft.
Jonny Flynn to me is a great lottery pick, i think he will be pick a little outside the TOP 10.
1. Because he isn't a great jump shoter
2. Only a average 3 shooter , and people dont think he will extend to the NBA 3
bdoody, i can see your point where jonny is small. but the dude is defiantly not skinny. i happen to live in syracuse and ive seen the guy. personally i think hes going to be in the teens for the draft. although i do hope he starts on his new team.
I think the Suns will take him at 14
I was about to say....Jonny Flynn isnt skinny at all. I saw him at the Hawks game and he is pretty muscular, he is really like 5 10 and doesnt look like he has a good wingspan, but he isnt weak. Maybe you need to watch him play once or twice before so say something like that. But anyway, I hope the Hawks or my Sixers trade up and take him before the Suns...I say this all the time, but he is a great point guard with all-star potential that I think he will live up 2
Since i saw at least 25 Flynn games, ill be honest. He deserved to be a top 10 player. I dont think he will go top 10 because he 6 foot and he doesnt look like an elite PG at some times. During some games, he played too fast and never waited for his teammates to get down the court and attack the hole with 7 footers waiting for him trying to draw a foul.
READ AND POST ON MOCK DRAFT 2.5
To me Flynn rushes things on offense, and sometimes doesn't seem into using his big men. Is he even 6 feet tall, I have seen things saying he is like 5'10 or 5'11. So I think he will also have trouble with physical guards. In a system which features an uptempo scheme I think he could be successful. With teams like the Knicks, Warriors, and Suns he could do well.
He won't slip past 14 if you ask me, and I can see him going as high as 10. I personally am not sold on him, but based on what teams say he should be lottery pick.
in my opinion flynn could go at 8 to the knicks. but i doubt he gets taken there because i think curry will be there for the knicks. but he is definately a late lotto pick in my mind, but you never know.
I don't have a problem with Flynn being in or out of the top 10. If he falls out of the lottery, those GMs should be fired. He's the best point guard in college basketball. With a lot of help from Devendorf, the legendary Big East Tournament solidified his high draft status.
D Hamp is the greatest basketball thinker in the world. Next to Hubie Brown anyway.
I actually caught about 5 or 6 of his games this year. He is super fast and quick, but he will get handled and pushed around by NBA point guards. Unless they are backups lol.
