Shooting Guards
SG right now-Kobe even though it may seem like Wade. Kobe kept his numbers right on par with the past 2 years even at 3 minutes per game.
Underrated-Eric Gordon
Overrated-Joe Johnson
Best in 5 years-Kobe
Best young SG 2years or less-Harden
Best Rookie SG-Brooks
Most Athletic-Wade
Best Leader-Kobe
Top 2-MJ,Kobe
1. Best SG right now- D-Wade
2. Most Underrated- Manu Ginobli
3. Overrated- Monta Ellis
4. Best SG in 5 years- no clue, how about...Harden?
5. Best Young SG (2 years or less played)- James Harden, just finished his 2nd year right?
6. Best Rookie SG- I'd put Burks over Thompson...
7. Most Athletic- DeMar DeRozan
8. Best Leader- shallow category, Kobe?
9. Top 2 All Time (since everybody will have MJ)- Michael Jordan, Jerry West
Also one more for PGs: Best PG in 5 years - Between Wall/Rose
Best SG- Kobe
Underrated- James Harden (yes yes, i know)
Overrated- Vince Carter
Best in 5 Years- Dwayne Wade, or Eric Gordon
Best Young SG- James Harden
Best rookie-Alec Burks
Best Leader- Ray Allen
Top 2 All time- MJ, Kobe
Best PG in 5 Years- Rose
Iguapops - You think Kobe'll be the best SG at the age of 37?
1. Best SG right now- Wade- tough not putting Kobe but Wade's D and athleticism trumps Kobe's offensive game now.
2. Most Underrated- Terry- 15.5 ppg in 10 of last 11 years and now a ring.
3. Overrated- Joe Johnson- 119,000,000 reasons why
4. Best SG in 5 years- Wade- Ill stick with a 34 year old Wade over Tyreke and Eric Gordon.
5. Best Young SG (2 years or less played)- Tyreke- with a jumper he has 25-7-5 potential.
6. Best Rookie SG- Burks- tough one, lots of ok to decent 2 guards in the draft.
7. Most Athletic- Wade- mainly because he really uses his athleticism on offense and defense.
8. Best Leader- Manu- He's a winner and a great competitor
9. Top 2 All Time (since everybody will have MJ)- 2. Kobe- big numbers, big rings.
Also one more for PGs: Best PG in 5 years- Wall- Love his game, I think he'll be a better all around PG than Rose by then
Shooting Guards Today:
1. Best SG right now- Dwayne Wade over Kobe
2. Most Underrated- Eric Gordon but its close. Lots of players could have gone here, Manu, Kevin Martin, James Harden(some people still think he's a bust... smh)
3. Overrated- Joe Johnson, I have 119 million reasons why he is.
4. Best SG in 5 years- Eric Gordon
5. Best Young SG (2 years or less played)- James Harden(entering his 3rd yr)
6. Best Rookie SG- Marshon Brooks is the most NBA ready, right now.
7. Most Athletic- DeMar DeRozan
8. Best Leader- Kobe Bryant
9. Top 2 All Time (since everybody will have MJ)- MJ and Kobe
Also one more for PGs: Best PG in 5 years- So hard to go against Rose, I am tempted to say Wall but I won't
SG right now- i give the slight edge to Kobe. one year ago when lakers won the champ, ppl were still saying kobe is the best in the game. one year later, he is not even in ppl's top 5. i agree hes gotten slower and not as dynamic, but the guy is still a winner. when we talk about "best" guards arent we talking about who can win for their team? i believe kobe is the utlimate competitor that will win games for you
Underrated - OJ Mayo (he can start from some team)/Tony Allen
Overrated - Joe Johnson/Manu
Best in 5 years - Eric Gordon
Best young SG 2years or less - James Harden
Best Rookie SG - Burks. Brook may be more ready to contribute and a better scorer right now, but i think Burks brings the whole package.
Most Athletic - Wade
Best Leader - Brandon Roy.. he was the leader of the team that carried portland to the playoff.. last year, he was the emotional leader... when he was on the court, you can just feel that portland team's intensity is a lot stronger..
Top 2 - MJ and Kobe
1. Best SG right now-Dwyane Wade, just barely edging over Kobe.
2. Most Underrated-Eric Gordon/Manu Ginobili. Gordon is flying under the radar a little bit, but he's very good right now. Manu does so many things that go unnoticed or don't get as much attention as things that Lebron or Kobe do
3. Overrated-Monta Ellis. Dude's a baller, but bit of a shot chucker and not much of a leader
4. Best SG in 5 years-Dwyane Wade/Tyreke Evans. If Durant or Westbrook wasn't on the Thunder, I'd say James Harden
5. Best Young SG (2 years or less played)-Hard to say between Evans and Harden. If Harden was in the role Reke is, I think he'd be putting up 20+ next year. Toss up
6. Best Rookie SG-Alec Burks
7. Most Athletic-DeMar DeRozan, not even really close for me.
8. Best Leader-Kobe is obviously the obvious answer. So besides him, I'd say Manu Ginobili. He's done everything for that team over the years and led them when Duncan or Parker couldn't
9. Top 2 All Time (since everybody will have MJ)-
Best SG now= Wade
Most Underrated= I have to agree with Eric Gordon, but closely followed by Kevin Martin
Most overrated= easily Joe Johnson
Best in 5= Derozan
Best rookie= Marshon, but Klay Thompson could put up #'s in Golden State's system
Best Leader= Ray Allen
Best all time= MJ and Jerry West
Best SG now = Dwyane Wade
Most Underrated = Kevin Martin
Most overrated = Joe Johnson
Best in 5 = Eric Gordon
Best rookie = Marshon Brooks
Best Leader = Wade
Best all time = Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant
Shooting Guards Today:
1. Best SG right now- Edge to Wade....For you Kobe sayers, I mean, elimination games in the first finals vs. Boston and this past season vs. Dallas, the Lakers gets killed!?
2. Most Underrated- Kevin Martin- Great scorer on bad teams but seriously, never had a chance to be a winner. And when a guard can consistently put up those number when the entire defense focuses "only" on him, thats saying something.
Also, if we count Stephen Jackson as a sg, we can say he is too. Underrated defender, scorer and playmaker. Its because hes not flashy, not going to cross you out or dunk on you.
3. Overrated- OJ Mayo....people still buying into his potential. Joe Johnson will get many votes here, but he's only overrated by the Hawks :-)
4. Best SG in 5 years- Has to be Dwayne Wade. After him, and Kobe, who currently is a bonified Super star at the position? Roy has the injuries and if you say Joe Johnson, I guess he probably is too overrated.
5. Best Young SG (2 years or less played)- Tyreke Evans.. we can debate whether to call him pg or sg though.
6. Best Rookie SG- Burks -- Combine questions 4 and 5 "SG w/ 2 years or less, thatll be best in 5 years. "BURKS"
7. Most Athletic- Wade, easily.
8. Best Leader- If you wanna call Stephen Jackson a sg, Ill go with him, he's vocal, he lets teammates know when they need to step up their games. By leader, I mean on the court, definatley not off :-) PSA, Kobe/Wade arent leaders people!
9. Top 2 All Time (since everybody will have MJ)- MJ, and since Im going to go with guys since the 90s, who Ive actually seen play..... Kobe or Drexler.
Good pick with Roy as a leader. I looked past him.
Can we stop for a second and ask, would Joe Johnson still be most overrated by you guys had he taken a 5 year 80 million dollar contract?
He's OVER paid not OVERrated.
I gave you a thumbs up for that post, but, being overpaid is a good indicator of whether someone is overrated. However, I went against picking Johnson for the fact only the Hawks were willing to over pay him.
Shooting Guards Today:
1. Best SG right now- I believe Dwayne Wade has over taken Kobe as the best SG in the NBA.
2. Most Underrated- Monta Ellis, should be a 2 time All Star right now, he was robed of two roster spot, (2010 and 2011)
3. Overrated- Joe Johnson, not only is overrated in my eyes, hes also overpaid. He gets paid as franchise player, but is really more like a 2nd-3rd option on a great playoff team.
4. Best SG in 5 years- The recent draft has produced very few elite bluechip SG prospects. But I believe once, Kobe and Wade, starts to age/wear down, 5 years from now, I can see James Harden being in Manu Ginobili level, and even more dynamic than Ginobili.
5. Best Young SG (2 years or less played)-I assume Harden and Evans are not qualified. I would probably go with Evan Turner. Not a whole lot of good ones that have played 2 years or less.
6. Best Rookie SG- Alec Burks will be a 18-20PPG scorer in this league. I like his chances for R.O.Y.
7. Most Athletic-DeMar Derozan
8. Best Leader-Kobe Bryant
9. Top 2 All Time (since everybody will have MJ)- A) MJ B) Kobe Bryant
1. Best SG right now- Wade, beating Kobe by a nudge
2. Most Underrated- Tony Allen who?
3. Overrated- Joe Johnson (based on contract he received)
4. Best SG in 5 years- Shabazz Muhammad (thinking far down the road becasue he offers more potential than current young sgs. Not saying there are not a lot of good ones but none of the young guys wont come close to Wade or Kobes level
5. Best Young SG (2 years or less played)- Tyreke Evans
6. Best Rookie SG Alec Burks
7. Most Athletic- D Wade
8. Best Leader- Kobe Bryant
9. Top 2 All Time (since everybody will have MJ)- Kobe
10. Best pg in 5 years- John Wall
1. Best SG right now- Dwayne Wade over Kobe
2. Most Underrated- I've always thought Stephen Jackson was underrated.
3. Overrated- Monta Ellis
4. Best SG in 5 years- Eric Gordon, out of the current NBA guys
5. Best Young SG (2 years or less played)- Tyreke Evans
6. Best Rookie SG- Alec Burks. Marshon Brooks is a ballhog who will put up empty scoring numbers on a noncompetitve team.
7. Most Athletic- Dwyane Wade
8. Best Leader- Kobe Bryant
9. Top 2 All Time (since everybody will have MJ)- MJ and Kobe
I actually just realized that it meant 5 years from now not the past 5 years. As a true Kobe fan, I will stick with my convictions and say he'll be the best. (Even though my heart says age catches everyone and that's an almost impossible feat) Assuming he's retired, I gotta go with Gordon, unless Shubazz comes in and shows people the next true great.
@ JNixon, while Brooks numbers may be empty, doesn't mean his individual season won't be the best for 2 guards. I sinderely doubt Burks has that good of a rookie campaign. IMO, Miles and Hayward are going to step in as the starters at the 2 &3. At least for this year.
1. Best SG right now- Wade
2. Most Underrated- Kevin Martin, the guy just steps on the court and scores, and he never has any help.
3. Overrated- i guess Joe Johnson
4. Best SG in 5 years- Eric Gordon, James Harden
5. Best Young SG (2 years or less played)-James Harden/Wes Matthews
6. Best Rookie SG- Klay Thompson
7. Most Athletic-How about Shannon Brown?!
8. Best Leader-Roy
9. Top 2 All Time (since everybody will have MJ)- MJ, Kobe
Also one more for PGs: Best PG in 5 years- Rose or Westbrook
How can you say Joe Johson is overrated when no one ever talks about him?Im not saying he is underrated but how can someone bee over rated him no one even hears about him
Burks may not start immediately at SG over Miles, but he will contribute more efficiently on a more competitive team. And he also will contribute in more areas than just scoring. Brooks might put up like 8 ppg, but I'm willing to bet he won't shoot higher than 41% from the floor. And he's not going to do much anywhere else. Not to mention there's a very good chance Brooks wont even start for New Jersey.
KHAM83, did you seriously just say that Kobe isn't a leader? Half the NBA/NBA related people will disagree with you my friend.
Then I guess half will agree :-)
Shooting Guards Today:
1. Best SG right now- Dwayne Wade
2. Most Underrated- Jason Richardson
3. Overrated- Joe Johnson
4. Best SG in 5 years- Eric Gordon
5. Best Young SG (2 years or less played)- Demar Derozen
6. Best Rookie SG- Alec Burks
7. Most Athletic JR. Smith
8. Best Leader- Kobe
9. Top 2 All Time (since everybody will have MJ)- Kobe Bryant
Also one more for PGs: Best PG in 5 years- John Wall or Derrick Rose
JNixon, you could be right, but Brooks is the kind of guy who like Thronton rookie year, could easily average 15 useless points. BTW, having Brook Lopez beside of you, I could easily see better rebounding nummbers than you would expect. I just personally don't see Burks having much impact rookie year, while i admit I could be wrong. He could end up the better long term player and probably will, just don't expect his first year to be better.
Marshon Brooks isn't as good a shooter, as strong or as quick off the bounce as Marcus Thornton. No coach will be willing to let him score 15 useless points, particularly a short leash defensive minded coach like Avery Johnson. Especially with Brook Lopez and Deron Williams on the floor with him. Thornton played on a team with Darren Collison , David West and basically no one else when he put up 15 ppg.
Shooting Guards Today:
1. Best SG right now- Dwyane Wade; Kobe's unwillingness to drive the lane against Dallas cost them the series, and Dwyane was an absolute monster the whole post-season. Gotta be Wade.
2. Most Underrated- Eric Gordon; defensive beast, aggressive scorer, not afraid of the big moment.
3. Overrated- Joe Johnson; never seen what the fuss was all about, certainly not worth that contract.
4. Best SG in 5 years- DeMar DeRozan; he's a very hard worker, made a huge leap between year 1 and 2, and is going to be the focal point of the Raptors offense for the next 5 years.
5. Best Young SG (2 years or less played)-Tyreke Evans
6. Best Rookie SG- Alec Burks; I'm very high on this kid.
7. Most Athletic-Wade, hands-down.
8. Best Leader- tough to call, I'll go with Ray Allen for being a steadying presence next to the intensity of PP and KG.
9. Top 2 All Time (since everybody will have MJ)- MJ and Kobe
Just like Avery didn't let Vujacic fire dumb shots? Oh wait, that did happen. BTW, Brooks may not have the same quick off the bounce ability of a Thornton, but you're very much discounting Brooks footwork and 7ft1 wingspan. THe guy can absolutely get any shot he wants. Isn't going to hurt ANY having Deron Williams setting him up in HIS spots to score.
"Just like Avery didn't let Vujacic fire dumb shots? Oh wait, that did happen. Brooks is a ball-stopper who struggles to shoot with his feet set, Deron Williams won't be there to make up for that. Vujacic played for the Nets and shot bad shots in the brief time he was there. He doesn't even play in the NBA anymore now though. I wonder why. *shrugs*
1. Best SG right now- Wade
2. Most Underrated- Gordon
3. Overrated- Kmart
4. Best SG in 5 years- Wade still
5. Best Young SG (2 years or less played)- Harden
6. Best Rookie SG- Burks
7. Most Athletic- DeRozan
8. Best Leader- Kobe
9. Top 2 All Time (since everybody will have MJ)- MJ, Kobe
I think only people who posts on this site know who he is :-/
Vujacic signed a one year deal due to the lockout. His shots had nothing to do with it. BTW, hate to tell you, but Burks has trouble shooting period. Devin Harris isn't going to help that out. He's pretty skinny himself also.
Shooting Guards Today:
1. Best SG right now-Dwade
2. Most Underrated- Kevin Martin
3. Overrated-Joe Johnson
4. Best SG in 5 years-Tyreke Evans
5. Best Young SG (2 years or less played)-Tyreke evans
6. Best Rookie SG-Marshon Brooks
7. Most Athletic-Demar DeRozen
8. Best Leader-Kobe

Also one more for PGs: Best PG in 5 years- John Wall
You must not have heard about Vujacic complaining and wanted to go overseas. Vujacic has been trying to get overseas since he was in LA. He definitely wasn't going to be resigned by the Nets anyway. Him coming back to the NBA is very doubtful.
Devin Harris doesn't help any other guys anyway. He's a scoring guard as it is. Burks is a creator off the dribble, and he's not selfish. He probably won't set the world on fire, but Burks will contribute immediately. The Jazz don't have the wings to keep him off the floor. And he's getting stronger. He's gone from 185 to about 200 lbs since his Fr. year, he's not anymore weak than Brooks is.
Kmart is the Corey Maggette of SG's , people say he is underrated cause he has never been in a huge market or got exposure and think he has scoring talent. But in reality he is an overpaid flopper who relies on getting to the line to get his production, sure he can shoot 3's (Maggette could when he was a Clipper for a bit) but he doesn't bring rebounding, defense or passing to the table.
And hes not really super skilled either or a game changer or clutch, he is just sort of there.
I agree He's no weaker than Brooks, it's why I said Himself as if to compare him to Brooks who is honestly probably weaker. And actually Vujacic hasn't been trying to get overseas since LAL, he threatend to go there if he wasn;t paid. Don;t get your facts wrong bro. i;m at LG daily. As for this season, I dunno, you could be right, but I sincerely doubt it since Sasha has gone on record as sayin that he LOVES playing in the NBA that it's the best league in the world. Not to mention his relationship to Sharapova. Sorry, to annoy, but I happen to be the biggest Vujacic fan there is. Why? I have no idea, it was the first time I saw him take KG to the hole when he was a rookie then al the heart he showed since.(definitely not for the talent0. Sadly, I have a Vujacic #18 LAL jersey. So again, I honestly doubt he stays in Europe.
"And actually Vujacic hasn't been trying to get overseas since LAL, he threatend to go there if he wasn;t paid"
.......He was still trying to go back overseas -____-

Sasha on resigning with LAL and how it was his largest priority.
http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nba/1067/player?r=1
Sasha's contract being one year. one lockout year.
BTW, where did you hear this supposed complaing from Sasha about wanting to go back to Europe so bad other than an agent saying he'd accept a contract from a European club if his payer wasn't resigned. And if he wasn't coming back to the NBA, don't you think there would be a longer contract signed?
Here's direct statement on his return to europe from Vujacic's official facebook. About 3 posts down.
1. Best SG right now- Kobe Bryant
2. Most Underrated- Monte Ellis
3. Overrated- Joe Johnson ( not a legit #1 Option)
4. Best SG in 5 years- Dwayne Wade
5. Best Young SG (2 years or less played)- Demar Derozan
6. Best Rookie SG- Marshon Brooks
7. Most Athletic- Demar Derozan
8. Best Leader- Kobe Bryant
9. Top 2 All Time (since everybody will have MJ)- MJ & Kobe
1. Best SG right now-D-Wade sorry Kobe you still are a beast
2. Most Underrated-Eric Gordan he is in the shawods of Blake Griffin
3. Overrated-It is not Joe Johson first of all because no one even talks about him and he got that contract because he is like the Hawks hero for the past 5 years and the Bulls ,Heat and Knicks were all thinking of sighning him to for a superteam
But my pick for most overrated is Manu Ginobili he only everaged 17 ppg on 43% from the field
4. Best SG in 5 years-Tyreke Evans ,he has all the tools ,he just needs to put them together
5. Best Young SG (2 years or less played)-Tyreke Evans
6. Best Rookie SG-Marshon Brooks,he will put up good numbers playing with Deron
7. Most Athletic-Wade- I would say Shannon but he can only do dunks at full speed run ,but Wade can dunk on anyone on the at full speed and he can throw down dunks from just a straight up dunk
And who here really believes Dwayne Wade is only 6'4 ?Because he plays like he is 6'8
8. Best Leader-Kobe no doubt. I dont know why yall are saying Ray Allen because KG obviously is the leader on D and Paul Peirce actually makes his clutch free throws while I have seen Ray Allen choke alot .
And Kobe makes Pau Gasol his &$#%#&@!
9. Top 2 All Time (since everybody will have MJ)-MJ and Kobe
Also one more for PGs: Best PG in 5 years-John Wall ,maybe 6'6 now with lightning speed and he has a chance to break the all time assist record because he started at 20 years old while John Stockton started at 22 years old
Kobe bryant is soo vocal on the court . He is coaching players when he on and off the court. If you think he isn't a leader then you must think ron artest is.... right ?
1. Best SG right now- Wade
2. Most Underrated- OJ Mayo
3. Overrated- Joe Johnson
4. Best SG in 5 years- Shabazz Muhammad
5. Best Young SG (2 years or less played)- James Harden
6. Best Rookie SG- Alec Burks
7. Most Athletic- Demar DeRozan
8. Best Leader- Kobe Bryant
9. Top 2 All Time (since everybody will have MJ)- Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant
Also one more for PGs: Best PG in 5 years- Derrick Rose
Guru, it honestly has to take a real Kobe hater to come up with this assesment. Or someone who hasn't watched basketball since 2006 when peopl were still talkin ish bout Bean.
1. Best SG right now- Dwayne Wade over Kobe
2. Most Underrated- Wesley Matthews
3. Overrated- Monta Ellis
4. Best SG in 5 years-Shabazz Muhammad
5. Best Young SG (2 years or less played)- Tyreke Evans
6. Best Rookie SG- Alec Burks.
7. Most Athletic- Dwyane Wade
8. Best Leader- Brandon Roy
9. Top 2 All Time (since everybody will have MJ)- MJ and Kobe

1. Best PG right now – Paul 17, D Williams 3, Rose 3
2. Most underrated – Lowry 5, A Miller 3, Teague-DHarris-Rondo-Sessions 2
3. Overrated- J Nelson 7, Rondo-Conley 5, Fisher-Westbrook 2
4. Best Young PG (less than 3 years in the league)- Wall 17, Collison-Holiday 1
5. Best Rookie PG- Irving 12, Walker 5, Knight-Rubio 2, Jimmer 1
6. Most athletic- Rose 21, Westbrook 8, N Robinson-Wall 1 (lots of double votes)
7. Best leader- Kidd 13, Nash-Paul 4, Billups-Fisher 3
8. Best All Time- Magic 18, O Robertson 3, Stockton-Pistol 1
