HE resigned with the Lakers for 2 years 4.6 million.

i guess that takes them out of the running for Delonte West.

what the lakers need to get is a quality back up center

i dont think they need a quality backup center. Pau slides over to the center spot when bynum sits and lamar comes in. Theo is basically the 3rd string center and he should be fine for 10-15 minutes a night.

nope we dont need a quality backup center. we won it with dj mbenga barely playing and now we have theo(he wont play alot either but he’s serviceable considering the minutes he will get

so now that we resigned brown we just got even better

    fisher,blake
kobe, brown, sasha in his last year of his contract
    artest,barnes,ebanks when he signs
    gasol,odom,caracter
    bynum,gasol,ratliff

each player can come in and contribute three peat here we come….again

Shannon Brown made a smart decision.

I know what you mean he made a smart decision, because he has a grat chance of winning a Ship.

But i disagree with you. I think he could have gotten move money and playing time to prove himself
i Beleive he could get better numbers and contribute move to a different team

I don’t know how much better he could be if he was a starter somewhere else, sure more minutes=bigger numbers. But he is in a perfect position, gets solid minutes and is a huge spark off the bench. The best decision he could make, winning a title>>>starting for the Cavs…lol

i agree smart decision. short and long term. the lakers arent a very young team and im sure he knows kobe isnt getting any younger. be a contributing factor on a title team and get more and more playing time every year. who does he really have to prove hisself too?..no one. cant blame him for wanting to win more then getting more money

I think he would’ve had better scoring and assist numbers and would’ve gotten more money for certain teams, but I think he would’ve been even less efficient than he is now from the field, with the TO’s that come with added responsibility, and from 3-point range.

In terms of just playing to his strengths and being unselfish, the Lakers are the best fit for him. Playing for another team might have allowed him more freedom, but at what cost? The Lakers are the best situation for him as a player IMO, because the triangle covers up his weaknesses (he has no true position, and his inconsistent shot).

Not really a smart move , he will not have alot of playing time and he is paid less than he could have been, I think he would have been a better fit iwth the knicks’s system

As much as I like Shannon Brown I think I’d rather tried to land Delonte West.

the whole thing about the delonte west trade rumors was that delonte was a non gauranteed contract so the lakers were hoping to trade shasha and a pick for him so they could cut him and then use the money to resign brown.

your right i forgot about the ratliff signing, but just for extra depth, i have a feeling that a point guard is next on there list just for some depth. i can see Walton being traded for depth

    D-Fish – Blake
    Bryant – Brown – Sasha
    Artest – Barnes – Walton – Ebanks
    Gasol – Odom – Characther
    Bynum – Ratliff

    some Walton ideas

    Walton for Mcdyess (san antonio)

Walton for Yi (washington) (moves Characther to center)

Walton for Bass (orlando) (moves Characther to center

who in there right mind is gonna take walton?..his back is bad and his contract isnt expiring. theres no reason for the lakers to try and sign another pfg. they already have two and brown plays third string pg
