I might be jumping the gun on this one and maybe it doesn’t deserve its own thread but ESPN is reporting that Brown Marshall and Lee will all be waived by the Wizards when the trade goes through. So what teams could use these players services? where would you like to see them end up? and where do you think they will end up?

I would say Utah should give Kendall Marshall a shot, they desperately need a playmaker.

      Completely agree.

Shannon Brown I could see off the bench in maybe OKC or Chicago

Lee will be lucky to get picked up at this point.

I think OKC or Chicago would love to have Shannon Brown on their team. Instant offense, nice spark plug off the bench.

He would fill the insta-offense void left behind from Nate leaving… But with a little safer play. On the other end, Chicago could use Lee too. He’s a 3 and D kinda player, but its not like they need something more from a player they’d only give about 6 minutes per game.

Dang Marshall, so highly thought of as good. Hes not that good. Slow, no jumper. But hes a great passer. Maybe he goes overseas

Marshall is definetly looking like the first bust of the 2012 NBA draft alongside Royce White. Who’s next?

Yes Kendall Marshall has great court vision and ball handling, but without even a remotely decent jumpshot I just don’t see him fitting in anywhere. He’d be best served off the bench, and team’s look more for a playmaker who can hit shots off the bench then a playmaker who can find open guys. Most of the good passers off the bench have some form of a jumpshot. Heck, even Andre Miller had a decent mid range jumpshot and could get his own while setting others up. Marshall is too one dimensional as a passer.

Brown, however, I can see being pursued by quite a few teams. Most notably, like mentioned above, OKC and Chicago.

I’d love to see the Celtics pick up Marshall to help run the point until Rondo gets back. I don’t think he’s going to bust, I just think the Suns were a terrible place for him, and the Wizards don’t need him either.

I was never a big fan of Marshall’s game. Even when he was on that really good UNC team with Barnes, Zeller and Henson. He is a great passer and he has always been able to get his teammates involved. But he never was a good shooter, no jumpshot and I knew his lack of athleticism wouldn’t fit the NBA well. Even though I never believed in him, that still surprises me that Kendall Marshall is getting waived so early, hasn’t even started his sophomore seasons yet and only one year after being a lottery pick. People were saying that Thomas Robinson was the bust of the 2012 Draft. T-Rob may never play like he was the 5th best player in that class but he could still definitely be something as I expect him to get some good quality minutes in Portland. Kendall Marshall and Royce White look like the biggest busts of that draft from what we’ve seen. I would not be very surprised if we find Kendall Marshall in the D-League or in Europe sometime soon. He will get picked up by somebody but that doesn’t mean he will last there for very long at all.

Utah would probably be his best fit. They were looking to trade for Marquis Teague since Trey Burke is supposed to be out until December. Their only two other PG’s are John Lucas and Scott Machado and Utah is already a young and rebuilding team.

Kendall Marshall won’t be playing anywhere.

He can’t shoot, can’t defend, isn’t quick nor fast, and the one thing he supposedly could do he barely can do it which was pass the ball, tough luck but its the truth.

I think Brown has 3 options:
Lakers – Where he spent most of his career and had his best success.
OKC – Help the second unit score consistanly.
Chicago – He and Rose together would be the most athletic backcourt ever (exaderation).

Marshall has tons of choices but the best would be:
Utah – Could have a chance to start but his chance would have an expiration date.
Denver – Spend a year or 2 getting taught by the player with the same skill-set and had great success; Andre Miller.
Portland – Their starting PG is much like a SG so Marshall would change the dynamic of the position when playing.

Lee won’t get many calls but a couple teams that might:
Indy – They love to play defense and while the SG position isn’t strong, its deep so this is a long shot.
Minny – He started with the Wolves and had some success so they could bring him back.

I liked Lee in his time in Minnesota, he brought a lot of good energy off the bench. He’s the type of player who can fill in nicely in a pinch and will make smart plays..

I’m not quite sure about Shannon Brown or Malcolm Lee so I won’t comment as to what will happen to either of them. As for Kendall Marshall, Utah really needs a point guard after Burke’s injury. He is expected to be out until mid December, early January. Other than Burke, they only have Lucas. They also have Lester Hudson and Scott Machado, but both are recently signed by the team, and they are over the 15 player limit so I expect one or both of those 2 players dropped before the deadline which I believe is midnight Monday, October 28th. So Utah really needs someone who can pass. I would like to see Utah make a deal to get Marquis Teague as talked about earlier in this same post. So that is an option too. I think Teague would be the better option for Utah, as he can shoot better than Marshall, and he’s fast, and can defend better than him too. But if no trade options are available then I would suggest Utah sign Marshall or re-sign Jamaal Tinsley. Maybe they will end up re-signing Tinsley and them immediately ship him to Chicago for Teague. I saw a rumor about the Jazz possibly re-signing Tinsley on ESPN’s rumor page a day ago I believe. So we’ll have to see what happens. We should know within a couple days as to what Utah decides to do as they need to have their roster finalized with another playmaker in place besides Lucas and Burke before Monday at midnight.

It’ll be interesting to see if there’s a line for Marshall at the end of the day. At the end of the day, he’s a one trick pony. He can pass and that’s it. Can’t shoot, can’t defend, and doesn’t rebound. And he has pretty much zero potential to get better at any of those considering he’s slow, unathletic, and has poor mechanics.

    Spurs
Pops would get the best out of him they play a half court games so his quickness and speed wont be exposed as badly plus they have a glut of shooters. Maybe develop a post game he is 6’4”and heavier then most pgs. for marshall

    Heat
Brown would give them a good combo guard who plays off the ball anyway. Plus him and Cole getting in the lane would give any 2nd unit fits with ray and shane or Beez shooting in the corners.

Teams who could use these players

Kendall Marshall- Utah and San Antonio are the only teams in my mind who could use his services. IF i were to go other teams I would say Orlando would could try and tank as well as Philadelphia.

Shannon Brown- Lakers should bring this kid back. He was amazing backup to the Black Mamba (Kobe Bryant). Bulls to me need a two guard on the bench who could score. Portland needs some more depth to their bench so why not pick up Shannon Brown.

Malcolm Lee- am not sure and I can’t comment on this dude. I haven’t seen his game.
