jaysmith1987ParticipantI might be the only one but i think this guy is under rated. He gets james harden and 2nd option comparisons i think he is a bona fide superstar in the making. I see him being a bone fide star a left handed dwayne wade. This guy is a power guard he overpowers bigmen in high school. Wich if he keeps getting in the weight room he can do at the nba level if he goes to unlv he can have a historic freshman season.

HadzialijagicParticipantWhat ive heard about this guy is that he has an unbelievable work ethic and will to win and be the best. If his work ethic and will to win really is on par with Kidd Gilchrist then he is a Michael Kidd Gilchrist with a much better jumpshot and slightly more athletic. That is nothing against Kidd Gilchrist who ive had as the 2nd best prospect in the draft for months. I also do think Muhammad will be a star player but its tough to find a comparison for him. He is 6’6 a great athlete that is strong and can finish and can shoot lights out he just needs improvement on handling with his off hand. He is also really long.

HitsterParticipantHis comparison on this site is Kobe/James Harden, if he is mentioned in the same breath as Kobe then I’d hardly say he is underated. Harden if he was on another team could surely be a 22 to 25ppg player, we don’t know just how good he could be as he plays this fantastic 6th man role for the Thunder.
Shabazz was top of Aran’s mock 2013 right up to this week from when Drummond reclassified, so his hype has been as much or greater than any backcourter in recent years. Mayo and Rose weren’t clear cut number ones for that long and Irving only assumed that mantle later on.
For a guy with his talent, Shabazz has a great work ethic and ould well get all defensive recognition in due course. He seems the sort of player who would want to know how to improve his game and would be highly coachable whih for a player of his natural ability is often rare. He seems to be a well grounded and mature guy who would bring a lot of positives to any team.

paradigmnParticipantI think I posted this back in January…but…with the Mcdonald’s game tonight…and the plethora of Shabazz posts lately…here it is again….The complete game of his dominating 37 point performance against Dematha Catholic who are led by Harvey Grant’s son Syracuse commit Jerami Grant, one of the best centers in the class of 2013 BJ Anya & Pitt commit James Robinson.
Got a chance to talk with Bazz for a couple minutes also…very humble kid who seems quite intelligent….not sure he’s a "Kobe Bryant" type of player…but…he’s definitely legit and will more than likely be a top 3 pick whenever he declares.

Harbinger2013 class looks like its going to be strong and its Wing heavy its alot of sf and combo gaurds that havent finished growing. I was just looking on espnu and rivals yesterday I’m looking forward to when they start college more then next season. I think if lebryan nash and shabazz lives up to expectation the nba is going to be in good hands there my two fav prospects right now untill I get too see some full games from some 2013 prospects.

iguapops420ParticipantHis ballhandling actually isn’t the greatest. Gerald Green was actually further advanced in highschool. Atill, he seems to have the brains to take advantage of the skills/talent. Personally I see somewhere below Dwyane Wade but better than James Harden. Actually, a longer more athletic James HArden is probably the best comparison. Even if his peek is James HArden, it will still be a win for the team that takes him.

Bmore_DCParticipant@hitster…
they also compared Deshawn Stevenson to Michael Jordan on this site, so dont hold your breath…
although i agree Shabazz will be a super-star and i would take him #1 if he could enter this draft

alex23Participanthe definetly has superstar potential

TyroberParticipantHe has a nice star name too. LeBron, Kobe, Melo, Amare …….. Shabazz

TomShoeParticipantThere are a lot of very hyped players coming out of high school. Just ask Derrick Caracter.

billykParticipantI don’t think James Harden has reached his peak as yet considering he is ONLY 22….

HitsterParticipantJames Harden is nowhere near his peak, I would assume. I like Iguapops’s comparision of someone better than Harden but not as good as D-Wade. That in my book would be a guy around All Star level and we could argue that Shabazz could well be the best SG prospect to be drafted since D-Wade and certainly since Harden.

bdiddy5115ParticipantThe most promising aspect of his game is his mentality. He has the star mentality and seems to have the fire, competitiveness and work-ethic to back it up.
Physically he’s great. He’s not an elite athlete, but he’s very good. His body is already NBA like, as you see him overpower most anybody his age. His fluidity isn’t elite (i.e. Kobe, prime T-Mac/VC) as he is a little stiffer than those guys, but he’s still solid in that respect – it may be due to his earlier developed body.
Skill wise, again he’s very good but not elite. This part could, and likely will only get better though. He needs to work on tightening up his right hand. Also, an intermediate game is needed, as he’s mostly reliant on getting to the rim and shooting threes at this point.
I don’t see transcendent player, but I definitely could see him being a superstar. As always though, it’s very early to say.

JNixonParticipantHe really needs to develop a better jumper and right hand from what I’ve seen, if he wants to capitalize on his potential. He has nice athleticism and physical tools, but he seems to be a bit raw in terms of fundamentals.

M-EazyParticipantSo you think the #1 player in his class is underrated?!?! WTF?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/29/2012 - 1:15pm #653068
uknationParticipantYou haven’t watched him much I see. He can not shoot the lights out. He’s a good mid range shooter but very inconsistent from three. Work ethic is unbelievable though plus a high motor and a very good athlete
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/29/2012 - 1:19pm #653072
uknationParticipantForgot to mention. You’re not underrated if you are ranked that high
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/29/2012 - 1:27pm #653073
Wahoo757ParticipantI think Shabazz is a really good player but you can throw out your ‘if Shabazz goes to UNLV then he’ll have a historic freshman season’ idea. That is because sources say he’s down to 3: UCLA, Kentucky, and Duke. He’ll put up good stats regardless, but not monster numbers like he put up in high school.
