Who saw his big summer league game yesterday? (Yes I know it’s summer league)

He had 27 points and 11 rebounds on 10-24 shooting.

He showed his athleticism that made him a great prospect in high school, he showed that motor we always loved, his physique is better, he said he’s down to 215 and he’s trying to get down to 205 pounds, he has a new diet and work out coach, he said, his weight is something that he’ll always have to fight. He was 2-3 from three and more importantly he was attacking.

I’m just saying I still have hope for him. We know Rick Adelman doesn’t play young guys, well he’s not the coach anymore.

Coming from UCLA, Shabazz averaged 18 points and 5 boards on 44 percent shooting.

Last year, his per 36 averages was 18 points, 7 boards and 1 steal on 46% shooting.

His D-League stats last year were 25 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals on 57% shooting and 50% from three.

When he’s gotten playing time, he has produced greatly, he’s a tremendous offensive rebounder, his athleticism seems to be back, he can shoot, he has a high motor, and he still has great length with his 6’11" wingspan, I still think he can be a star in this league.

    What do you think?

And a side note, I think any trade for Kevin Love should involve big men mainly.

Minnesota has Corey Brewer, Chase Budinger, Alessandro Gentile, Alexey Sheved, Shabazz Muhammad, Kevin Martin, Zach Lavine, and Glenn Robinson III. Those are only the players who can play the 2 or the 3.

Why would they need Klay Thompson or Dion Waiters?

I’ve never really cared for shabazz. As far as the whole athleticism thing I never thought he was crazy athletic I thought he was kinda average. Also he’s a volume shooter which isn’t always bad but I just don’t see the wolves giving him enough shots to be great

I would think Mini might benefit from Klay Thompson or Waiters simply because they’re both a few years younger with more upside than Shabazz.

His athleticism and speed is average. I wasn’t sure how much he weighed, but I thought he looked heavy. He has a body type that can get fat easily if he doesn’t commit himself.

Shabazz at 21 is younger than both Waiters 22 and Klay Thompson 24.

Shabazz had an age controversy. I get it. It has been resolved.

On a fast break he was by himself for a dunk, and his head was well below the rim. I thought it was weird that he yelled during it like it was going to be some crazy dunk. I pointed that out to my friends who weren’t paying any attention to the dunk at all.

What did you  guys think of Ricky Ledo ? He can play, but he really needs to hit the gym. His body has no definition at all.

I said that when he was in HS…  This site and everybody were claiming he had a 10 athleticism…  Which didn’t make sense to me because his head was never by the rim…  It was his long arms that made it seem that way…  Another player coming up that I see isn’t athletic as people are making him out to be is Ben Simmons…  I have yet to see his head at the rim when dunking and he’s 6’9…

I wanted to make a Bazz thread, but then got lazy. He impressed me just because of how hard he goes on offense. He was tearing down rebounds and playing with an energy that’s always valued in the NBA… but from the bench. I think Shabazz will be a solid 6th man, a sparkpug kinda guy.

I think Bazz is a perfect fit alongside Rubio; he moves well off the ball and is aggtessive running the break. He has a solid catch and shoot game.

I think his ideal position is SG, so Lavine complicates things. Hopefully he gets a shot to strut his stuff.

I really hope Wiggins ends up in Minny for Love. Best possible outcome for both parties IMO.

His ideal spot is SF. He doesnt have the lateral movement or quickness to guard SG’s.

I’ve also loved his game and wanted the Celtics to take him, did some major scouting on him.  I think he’s a small forward long term.  Needs to improve defense and he could become a really good player.

I was hoping the Twolves would get him. The one thing I knew about him going into the draft was that he worked very hard. I don’t really know his potential, but I do know what ever that potential is he will come close to reaching it because he works so hard. He fits much better as a person in the NBA than he did in college. He seemed like a guy who was in college because he was forced to be there. Now he is in the NBA and all he cares about is basketball and working as hard as he can to get better at it. If we don’t get a SF in a trade for Love then I think they should start him. He fits perfectly with rubio because he plays off the ball great and hustles. His shot is imrpoving. Starting him is best for the long term and possibly short term outlook of the Twolves barring they dont get someone like Wiggins in a trade for Kevin Love

From what I’ve seen, he’s same old Shabazz. Good volume scorer and rebounder who doesn’t really do much on defense or in terms of setting up teammates.

15.5 ppg 7 rpg 0 apg 0 spg 0 bpg are his 2 game numbers.

I always thought he might be able to find a nitch as a volume scorer, either as a bench spark or as a starter, but I never thought he had star power or was the type of guy who’d continue to add new elements to his game. Some guys just seem to be stuck in their ways, and I always got the impression Shabazz was one of them.

Don’t get me wrong, he’s an NBA player, and a solid young asset, who can give you scoring, but I’m not excited about him as a break out star or anything. Just a very one dimensional player, who will most likely be a specialist.
