So Seth Curry has been pretty spectacular in the tourney to this point, how do you think this is helping his draft stock? Where do you think he could be drafted?

Idk but like I said before I would like for the heat to draft him in the second round. To me he is a legit top NBA range shooter in college. You can’t leave him open for a second, when you play with the Heat defenses have no choice but to play a lil off of you, curry’s stroke is beautiful and consisten. His soft touch on the ball when releasing is tops in the class with pj hairston, and kentavious Cadwell… Straight supreme soft touch on jumper.
    .
He can push the ball on a break, and has a hreat sense of ball of ball movement. He fits Heat/Riley coultoure. Very tough player, hard worker and strives to live up his name – Curry. His brother ball out in the NBA has to push him to be an NBA player, and he has proven to be imho.
    .
Off ball combo guard, 3 point shooting specialist.

He looks like a late career Mike Bibby. Slow, smart, and a good shooter. There is a spot for him on an NBA roster even if its just to be a 3rd PG behind his brother.

He could struggle defensively, and overall struggle as a player in a bad system, but with the Heat he could be played depending on matchups and stick to the worst player offensively and have the heats defensive versatility make up for it. He needs to go to a team that has a lot of scoring power so that he can feed off others.

Seth Curry reminds me of Eddie House a bit.

He’ll be a mid-late 2nd round pick. He’s a good college player, but he and Russ Smith kinda fall into that same category of guys that are SGs in a PG’s body. The only NBA attribute that he really brings to a team is his great shooting ability. I agree with the first response that he’d be a good fit on a team like the Heat where he can play a Chalmers kind of role. He isn’t going to be the guy that sets things up for everyone else, but if he can play off the ball and just catch and shoot, he can be a decent weapon off the bench.

I honestly think he could become a great sixth man, if a team is willing to give him a shot coming off the bench and allow him to just provide a scoring punch I’m pretty sure he could be a decent player in the NBA.

I think he’s an NBA player. Not a starter, nothing great, but he can shoot it lights out, and that is an acquired skill. If Daquan Cook and Steve Novak are on NBA rosters, he could be too. And the fact he’s played at Duke and at least has some understanding of defensive fundamentals, he probably would be a better asset to a team than either of those guys.

Can someone please tell me what makes Seth Curry better than Gerry McNamara from Syracuse a few years ago? I mean, at least Gerry actually ran the point in college. Seth is an amazing shooter, but he has no handles, struggles to create shots for himself and can’t guard. If he didn’t transfer to Duke and his last name were different, I really don’t think anyone would be very high on his NBA future

Off the top of my head, as a Cuse fan, I can tell you with certainty that Curry was far more efficient than McNamara.

he was averaging over 20ppg his FRESHMAN year at liberty….if he had’ve stayed there he would’ve eventually been putting up the scoring numbers his brother did in college he was the focal point of their offense. With the lesser competition if he had’ve stayed there 4 years his stock would probably be about the same….

Stephen’s handles were much better. I like the Eddie House comparison brought up earlier, but without the spaz attack House has every time he scores.

Efficient. Smart. Outstanding shooter. But he’s a 6′ SG who can give you no help handling the ball and will be a liability on defense. To be able to play someone like him as a coach in the NBA you would have to gameplan far to much to make it worth having him on the floor. If a team doesn’t run him off 3-4 screens each trip down he’s likely to disappear. Combined with the fact that he will be targeted and picked on on the defensive end and now you are creating specialized defenses to hide/protect him. All for what? A guy who will most likely be your third option at either guard position? Those guys are supposed to be plug and play types (earl watson, Jon Lucas III, AJ Price, etc), not someone you build a gameplan around.

Agreed, should’ve said what makes Curry such a BETTER prospect than McNamara. I didn’t think Gery would make it either for much the same reason (he couldn’t guard his position).

If Trajan Langdon couldn’t make the league, I don’t know how Seth Curry would.

you have a point because Langdon was bigger, stronger, and appeared to have some athletic advantages, dont think he was a better shooter than Seth though. it depends on the circumstances though.

some here are saying he has no handle, I dont see it that way, his handle is good, he just doesnt have the quickness of a guy like House so he cant get his shot with the dribble. you saw the play last night where he broke his own ankles (as the Kellogg said). he can light you up off screens but he will struggle not only to get his shot but handling the ball against pressure. he is bothered by athleticism when he is on the ball. we know the same things about him that we have known for a while. I say on a contender he could get some run but it would have to be beside a bigger PG and that team that plays exceptional team defense. He could be a Steve Kerr type player perhaps in the right situation.

Who say he won’t get to the league and become more of a complete player like JJ did he just has to work. He already has better handles then Redick did. Seth mite not be the fastest but have you guy watched him play? He is a complete scorer and has some pretty slick moves when he get in the lane. Does he need to improve yes but what rookie doesn’t? I could totally see on a team where the SG or SF is the ball handler. I could see him comin off the bench for teams like The Heat, Lakers, OKC, and Rockets. And thought Duke doesn’t produce good pros is False. If my numbers are right 5 former players in the league right now have been all stars 2 this year. Sheldon Williams is the only real bust Duke has had this decade.
