it's solid. i wouldn't count

it's solid. i wouldn't count out battier or jones and varnado may have some relevance as a shot blocker, but that's yet to be seen. he looked like a tough presence in summer league though.

I think it is a better bench

I think it is a better bench than most contenders have.

Wouldn't that be something,

Wouldn't that be something, the least deserving player of a championship Beasley possibly winning one.

Good amount of question

Good amount of question marks. How many time if any is Oden going to see due to healthy. Will Beasley get as many splinters as Lewis did last year. And I think the way the Heat play they'll have Beasley at the 4 more than the 3.

Better than the 76ers

Better than the 76ers starters. Probably.

Could turn into the best

Could turn into the best bench since those old Bad Boys teams. Ray Allen is a top notch sixth man,
Norris Cole is decent, Battier is an ideal 8th or 9th guy on most teams, along with Birdman and Oden defending
the paint. If Beasley gets it going that will give the Heat another legit scoring option off the bench. Plus they still have
Udonis Haslem and Rashard Lewis. SCARY.

The Heat should win 70 games next year.

Only way I see them winning

Only way I see them winning 70 games is if every team on the fringe between tanking and chasing eighth seeds decides to go into the tank.

Otherwise, it's kind of pointless. They said it themselves last year that their winning streak felt like the playoffs. To expend that much energy in the regular season again just isn't smart, especially with how top-heavy the East is next season and how many games LeBron, Wade, and Bosh will have played after four straight Finals appearances.

The Heat have depth and

The Heat have depth and defense. Along with continuity. I think they can get to 70 even without pushing
LeBron and Wade to the limit.

For the second half of last season they were basically unbeatable and I think that
can carry over. Also, not sold on the Spurs, Thunder, Celtics, and Knicks being better
than last year. The Bulls with Rose back should be a lot better but that's about it.

Are you assuming Oden can

Are you assuming Oden can play? I think that is a very big assumption.
Norris Cole has a dreadful shooting percentage. Last year he even took a step back on FT%. And he brings nothing else to the table on offense. His defense is average at best. I wouldn't call him decent.
Beasely is what he is. He is a guy who jacks up shots, misses a bunch of them, and then also brings nothing else to the table. But in his case he is also bad at defense. You can always say "if he gets it together", but you can't count on this being different. He has been released by mediocre and bad teams because he was just bad. No one in management really cares if a player smokes a little maryjane. The problem is he has just been bad.
If Oden is back, he is a legit NBA center, even a good NBA center. I'm going to guess that he can't play anymore.
Ray Allen, Birdman and Haslem are decent.
