The Nets are hosting their annual combine on their new Brooklyn Nets site this year and it appears Scotty Machado is really showing out at the combine. He went head up with Tu holloway and came out with the upper hand. How many PG’s do you guys believe will get drafted before him, and do you think he will stick in the league. Something tells me he will be a solid rotation PG in the league.

Here is a link about how the Combine went yesterday http://www.zagsblog.com/2012/05/19/machado-murphy-gordon-english-impress-scouts/#more-73640

in my mind he should get drafted at the end of the first or beginning of the second round…

a lot of team need a back up pg able to dish assists and organize the game. If he shows he has the athletic tools to defend at the next step he should find a home.

He reminds me the way faried was drafted last year. No hype, role player excelling in one or two special fields, serious, hard worker, from a "small" university. He’s one of my favourite (as faried last year) this year with marshall.

Marshall, lillard and certainly teague should get drafted before him…

satoransky, taylor, wayns should find a home after. Waiters and wrotten are not pg in my mind.

This kid is going to be 1 of the 10 best rookies next season…My only complaint i have about him is that he needs to work on finishing at the rim better…..

I watched him play a few times and he always looked like the best player on the floor.  His passing instincts are elite and he plays with a chip on his shoulder.  I think he’ll go higher than people expect.  He’s a player 5-6 GMs could have fallen in love with and reach for.  I wouldn’t be surprised to see him go in the late first round.  And I don’t think he’ll disappoint.  I expect him to be a solid backup for 10+ years, but I could see him making it as a starter in the NBA.

In the last 1st round maybe all those teams could use machado as a back up pg except at 20 denver (lawson and surely miller) and at 28 oklahoma (westbrook, maynor and maybe fisher)…

21 and 22 BOS : rondo has no back up, and machado could fill the collective view of basketball (maybe defensive issue…).

23 ATL : teague has no back up and lacks at time real pg skills.

24 MEM : conley has no back up too.

25 CLE : irving has no back up too.

26 IND : collison lost his starting job and disappointed lots of people. Hill has to be extend (and it won’t be cheap)… machado could be a solution.

27 MIA : chalmers is good… cole has disappeared. Machado brings better pg skills than both.

    29 CHI : watson is on a team option…

30 GSW : curry had a past of injuries, jenkins has not the same pg quality as machado.

I really can’t imagine 1 of those teams (without even thinking od teams trading to get a late 1st round) not drafting machado… it would be a great mistake.

    NET RESULTS

The Brooklyn Nets put on a pre-draft workout last weekend that featured mostly second-round-caliber prospects and was attended by several NBA teams.

According to a scout working for a Western Conference team, Iona point guard Scott Machado — who led the nation in assists — continued demonstrating the potential to be selected somewhere between the lottery and the end of the first round.

“His ability to pass the basketball never was in question,” the scout said. “But we’re all looking to see if he can make enough shots to keep defenders honest and do a good job on the other end. So far, so good.”

Our insider also had high praise — relative to the competition — for Buffalo University forward Mitchell Watt. Watt played high school ball at Desert Edge in Goodyear, Ariz.
