He is absolutely killing it right now for Iona. He is averaging 19.8 points 12.8 assists and 3 steals in four games with Iona this year, including a 33 point 10 assist 4 steal game tonight against Saint Joseph’s. Doug Gottlieb even went as far as calling him the number one point guard prospect in the country right now. Was anyone expecting this from him? Does anyone think he can keep putting up numbers like this day in and day out? I don’t think he even has a player profile on NBADraft.net, let alone being in any of the mock drafts, which I think he should be.

Michael Glover on Iona is one of my personal favorite prospects. Saw him play against Syracuse and he scored more points around the basket than anyone we’ve played in my time there, abused Rick Jackson. Listed at 6-7/215 but definitely closer to 225 and a true power forward. Put up 18.4 and 10.1 last year and shot 61% from he field. Put up 34 & 15 tonight. Phenomenal at positioning himself/converting on the low block; not much of a shooter…think, best case, Craig Smith/Paul Millsap prior to developing a reliable jumper. Glad to see the site recognizes him.

That someone has given this kid some recognition. I havent seen him play yet, but I have been keeping up with his games and he has posted some impressive stats. From what I hear, he is the best pg guard in college basketball, Im not sure what is pro potential is, but I cant wait to see him play for myself. I dont find it hard to believe that he maybe the best pg given what I’ve seen. Marquis Teague maybe overrated. Great speed and athleticism, but turnover prone, not great vision, and suspect jumpshot. Kendall Marshall has great court vision, but lacks an offensive game.

Underrated Pgs right now Travon Woodall-Pitt Lorenzo Brown-NC State – Trevor Releford- Alabama All this guys are doing their thing and winning as well. AND Please watch out for Trey Burke-  Michigan- I think Burke is a better pg than Teague right now and they are both freshmen. Burke has some Chris Paul to his game. Great ball-handler, can really get to the rim, can make the right pass, and can stroke it. I may catch some flak but im not sure I would draft teague over this kid, if the draft were today. Im not sold on hype, I really havent been impressed with his leadership skills, court vision, ability to take care of the ball, and definitely his shooting and turnovers. Maybe as the season goes on he will turn into another Cal one and done, but right now I would not draft him too early

Scott Machado is definitely underrated. His teammates call him the next Jason Kidd! That may be a little too optimistic but his game is definitely doing the talking right now. Leading the nation in assists. I think nbadraft.net should at least give him a player profile =P.

And dude has a pretty cool name to boot! Machado!

He’s a nice passer and he’s shown ALOT more this year in terms of being a scorer and shooter early on. He’s not better than Kendall Marshall, or a guy like Jordan Taylor despite Taylor’s starting slow from a statistical standpoint (Wisonsin is still handling business early), but he deserves mention as a top 3-5 PG in America. He’s OUTSTANDING in drive and dish situations, and he’s a very smooth player. And it only helps that Iona has Mike Glover as a very good frontline player, and the fact that they have one of the very best backcourts in the country.

I’ll admit to only seeing him play the few games last week in Puerto Rico, but it was hard not to come out impressed at what this kid was able to do. In complete control, shows a nice lil burst, dropping dimes. Not much really separates him from a Kendall Marshall in my eyes. If you swap them and put them on eachothers team, I’m not sure much would change. With the weapons both teams have, they’ll still rack up those assists and be very good PGs. Machado seems to have an extra gear he can go to though, so that may help him in projecting for the next level compared to a Marshall or Jordan Taylor. But he was really impressive and fun to watch in Puerto Rico though. Hope I can catch some more of their games on tv before the seasons over.
