After watching the thunder this season I just can’t get over the fact that I think Scott brooks does a poor job with this team. I mean I’m sure I will get blasted for this but Kevin Durant and Westbrook could’ve done what they’d done this year with anyone at the helm coaching this team. It was glaring last nite. Now of course not many coaches will outsmart coach pop of SA but all the switches from Tim Duncan on Derek fisher just frustrated the hell out of me. Also I know Russell Westbrook got a lot of flack this year but ultimately the coach has to tell his guys who he wants the ball to go to. I’m tired of Russ getting all the blame and the coach taking none. I love Russ to death as he’s my fav player and I feel sometimes he does what he does but coach brooks is truly afraid to make him upset. Also some of the plays coach brooks calls after timeouts are flat out awful. I know okc and the media love coach brooks but I think he failed this team this year. If u watch their games it’s basically Russ and KD going one on one to score all of their points. Do you know how hard it is to have to work and work every single play and score in a ISO situation against someone? At least spoelstra brings Lebrun off screens and has him making cuts. Smh thoughts.

I think team makeup is a part of OKC’s woes over the past years, although I will say that Scott Brooks is not my favorite coach in the league.

OKC has too many defensive specialists IMO. Perkins, Thabo, Collison, are all guys who play major roles for them, but they’re just hustle guys and defenders. Even Adams, who has a nice future, is just a hustle guy for now. They need another guy to spread the ball around IMO. You’re right Russell, and KD go one on one a lot, and Serge works the pick and pop, but no matter what position it is, they need a distributer.

If they had Joakim Noah, at center, they’d win the title.

Inserting Reggie Jackson to the starting lineup was the right move, because at least he’s a combo who has some distribution skills, but that just left their 2nd unit offensive production completely stagnant. Lance would be a great fit in OKC, IMO, because of his ability to spread the ball around at the 2 spot.

They don’t have the right pieces in place, but because of their stars…they’re still good enough to make it to game 6 of the WCF.

IMO, Brooks, and Westbrook don’t need to go, I think they need to bring in some versitile guys who can spread the ball around and not just be pigeon holed as defensive specialists. Even if that means giving Kyle Anderson a hard look at 21 or 29, if he’s still on the board or going after a guy like Lance, Evan Turner or even Josh McRoberts in free agency.

Defense wins championships, but not when only 2 1/2 guys on your team can put the ball in the hoop on a regular basis.

The team has the personnel to win a ring this year. They didn’t win because of Scott Brooks and only coach Brooks. He doesn’t use his players properly at all when it comes to the playoffs. Lamb and PJ3 played well throughout the year but the closer the playoffs got the less time they seen. Lamb should have been the starter all season since he can actually shoot which will spread the floor instead of Thabo. This team has NO identity they just play pickup ball and when he calls a play the only option is Durant. My main problem is he is married to his rotation and has to be desperate to change it. When he took Thabo out in the Memphis series he should have never played him again this year. He also should have worked Adams in the starting lineup throughout the season because he is the only big an that finishes strong. This is like the late 80’s bulls a coaching change will take them to the promise land. Hire Mark Jackson to be a leader of men and to teach Westbrook or hire JVG. The key to the thunder is making sure you put a pure shooter and a finisher with Ibaka, Durant, and Westbrook which they have.

Scott Brooks coaches?  Scott Brooks calls plays?  If you call Westrbrook dribbling the ball up court and taking an immediate three with 20 seconds on the shot clock, then yes, Scott Brooks calls a ton of plays.  I’ve never seen a bigger contrast in style between 2 teams in a playoff series.  OKC was so much more athletic than San Antonio it was crazy.  OKC had the athletic advantage at all 5 poositions on the court.  San Antonio with Pop has never been extremely athletic.  They have good athletes but they win games and chamiponsips with ball and player movement, unselfishness and cutting.  Watching San Antonio move the ball is an absolute thing of beauty.  On one play Ginobili dumped the ball inside to Duncan and Duncan made a beautiful touch pass in the corner to a wide open shooter for a three.  If OKC had that kind of ball movement with the athletes they have, they would be practically unstoppable.  The one on one iso style of play OKC uses falls right into what San Antonio is very good at shutting down.  A new system needs to be implemented, becasue obviously the one they have isn’t doing them much good.

Need to touch the ball make decisions and draw double teams. Too often the MVP is waiting to receive the ball. Way too often. The coach has never fixed this. The player though good does not play his Scottie Pippen,D Wade position, said player shoots. I think the player must stop this. If he does not stop changes should be made. That needs to be stressed. KD is suppose to be the man who dominates that ball and takes the majority of those shots. This year KD checked out a little do to said players continuous habits and the coaches inability to fix them. The coach must learn how to use all his weapons with his stars. The coach does not implement a game plan for offensive success for other weapons. Westbroom does not get others involved early either and thT has to change. Too many 1 for 7 first quarters meanwhile the other guys never get jnto the flow early. Not bashing Russell but kid needs to be rained in.

Sorry, but it took you until now to realize he’s a bad coach?  That was painfully obvious in the 2012 playoffs.
