slepchorParticipantSo I remember posting about him 3 years ago, along with zhou qi..Not many were familiar to his name back then, and most of you pointed out the obvious, that he is really slow. Of course he is, not many guys around 300 lbs are fast on their feet, but, just how underdeveloped you think he really is? Do you all think that it’s that bad? Personally, I would say he is just 30% NBA ready, but since I’ve been watching him for 5 years, I seriously doubt that anyone picked near him has been working out so thoroughly, regarding his body mostly but his game too.. So, if he played a full rookie season, how bad you see it being? Like last season’s Hibbert bad, for example? (Lol) I’m just happy that the kid will have income from basketball one way or another

Rip255Does the Great Khali have a long lost brother or something…..
Way worse than Roy Hibbert last season. He could easily be the D-Leagues version of Roy Hibbert though….in 2 years.
If this guy ever makes the NBA and shows his ability surpasses the 6 fouls he could use on DeAndre Jordan, I’d be stunned.

Reptilian MonkParticipantAlso I think Mark Cuban made the pick from aa business perspective. He is the first player in the NBA ever from India. India is the 2nd largest populated country in the world almost at 1.3 billion people, just behind China. That is almost 4 times the United States population. As the sports grows internationally that grows the Mavericks brand to an extremely large population and potentially lots of new income.

mookieParticipantI agree with Reptilian Monkey….I said the same things when the Kings signed Sim Bhullar to a contract. These are just business decisions to draw more revenue from the 2nd most populated country in the world. Its the same reason why you see more indian actors on American tv and in American movies. They arent necessarily the best entertainers but they will generate revenue.

CoachWyersParticipantHe is D-league bound for sure and I don’t see much of an NBA future for him, was a PR and money making pick to get a lot of Dallas fans in India, which is one of the biggest growing markets.

BleedingBlueParticipantYou guys need to keep in mind that he averaged merely 9 points and 8 rebounds on an IMG Academy that wasn’t even that good and that he only entered the draft because he wasn’t offered by any Division 1 school. I’d be shocked if he plays more than 100 minutes in his entire NBA career.

slepchorParticipantActually he did not qualify because of his academic grades, some schools like Purdue had interest in him
