bobbybParticipantThe Miami trio must have really overshowed ever move made this offseason. Because i cant believe more people arent talking about the Spurs adding Tiago Splitter. He will be a least a top 5 center in the league within his first year or two. The Spur have to be the best team at drafting, especially internationaly. In 2001 they aslo drafted Javtokas from Lithuania( which never came due to moto accident.) He would have be another top center in the league.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantThe Spurs need to get Duncan, Parker, and Manu into the playoffs with their bodies in tact. It just isn’t an easy task, though they don’t have a bad collection of “young” talent. George Hill, James Anderson, Gary Neal, DeJuan Blair, and Tiago Splitter are all guys who can be contributors. As long as Duncan is around, they don’t need Splitter to be a top ten center. They do need 25-30 minutes of rebounding and defense.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantI think they might trade Tony Parker in the season if he doesn’t wanna talk extension.
I think the Spurs are really underrated at this point. I buy into them right now. I do think they could add maybe another wing just in case.

PlatypusParticipantDo you think Splitter will start right away or come off the bench?

btown gmParticipantno doubt spurs will be a tough team but it all depends on how well and healty duncan, ginobli, parker are. yes hill, blair are nice young players and theyll have good players around them but jefferson has to be that 16-18 ppg scorer to take the load of the big 3. as far tiago splitter goes i wouldnt be so sure about him being a top 5 center bobby b u need to understand that until he provez himself and showz what hez got at the NBA LEVEL hes not reilable plus what makes u belive he wont be a bust. yes gms say he has talent but thats what they said about kqame brown , michale olowakandi, and other busts.
until u see him dominating the NBA not europe, u shouldnt say hez problay gonna be a top 5 center

ChrispyParticipantSplitter is the real deal. He has unbelievably good post defense, both on ball and weakside, and possesses excellent rebounding instincts and above average touch. Think a bigger, though slighlty less skilled Pau. He will surprise a lot of people (not all though- bobbyb!).

stealsgaloreParticipant1. I think the most important thing Splitter can provide is that he can guard the other teams best post option, saving Duncan from excess stress.
2. I think the most important thing for the Spurs this season is the development of RJ into the Spurs system, players usually do better in the 2nd year in Pop’s system and hopefully Jefferson is one of those. He really needs to be a better spot up shooter and defender in order for the Spurs to contend.
