LOS ANGELES (AP)—A toddler has died after falling 50 feet from a luxury suite at the Los Angeles Lakers game against the Golden State Warriors in the Staples Center arena.

Police Sgt. Frank Alvelais says early Monday that the boy, believed to be 2 or 3 years old, was taken to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, where he died. The boy’s name hasn’t been released.

Witnesses told the Los Angeles Times the boy was moving his arms, legs and head before paramedics took him out of arena on a stretcher.

R.I.P to the little boy and my wishes go out for that family.

but thats how society makes it unfortunately. I was reading comments on that and people were like the parents should sue the lakers (which is stupid) and other people are saying its the parents fault. I’m personally not looking for someone to blame, how situations like these are handled

What could anybody with the Lakers have done differently.  Anyone with common sense knows how high those things are and that you have to watch yourself and your young ones because I went to a Mavs game and I think the rails should be a little higher myself because you could easily stumble over the thing if you were drunk or just clumsy.  I don’t know how Lakers place is but it is something that should be looked at.  Also if this little kid fell, he parents should never have had him up about without supervision because he was small enough that the rail should have kept him from falling unless he was leaning over on his tippy toes which no parent should let their kids do in the first place.  If i had any kids I would let them be up and about up that high.

very sad, but a 2-3 year old kid should be under heavy supervision 100% of the time.

Damn… I hate to hear this.

Where was his parents? I know that when I take my little cousins to the game, I’m holding onto them constantly and keeping an eye on them.

@trinajoe, i dont think wondering what the parents were doing while their toddler was putting himself in a dangerous position is wrong at all. In fact its the first thing i thought of since i hate seeing news like this. Unless thats not what you are calling out.

i mean when they said maybe the lakers were liable. my son will disappear in a split second. of course he should have been under better supervison, but already trying to spin it and see if the lakers are liable(aka trying to get money out of it) is bull.

@Bstar405 "Why do people always have to look for a blame and whos liable?"

Are you wondering why there are investigations into the deaths of humans?  Authorities don’t find out "who’s liable" for fun, obviously there will be an investigation into his death and the Lakers organization may be found responsible.  What kind of country would we be if the authorities said "f*ck it, it was probably just an accident" every time someone died of unnatural causes?  Until they find what happened, it’s possible the Lakers organization could be held liable.

Truly sad story though, best wishes to him and his family. RIP
