SAC lands Brooks
Just read that Aaron Brooks has come to terms to join the kings. surprising move actually since i did not expect for them to get any free agent signings with the way their ownership group lack stability right now. still dont know for how much or for how long though. heres the source:
according to Alex Kennedy, its a 2 year deal. details on the ammount or wheather it holds a player or team option has yet to be disclosed.
I'm so happy! I love Aaron Brooks! Don't get me wrong IT is a boss and is a very VERY good player! But Aaron Brooks will start and the Kings have become a remarkably improved team from last season!
Petrie has been on fire lately. And even better it means the Jimmer Ferdette at the PG spot is over. meaning he'll most likely get lost between Evans and thornton, and there is no way he gets a sufficient amount of playing time with those to getting minutes.
Whats this...am I actually happy about a move the Kings made. 0_o
You can say Brooks will battle it out with Thomas for a spot, but I'm pretty sure Isaiah Thomas will still be starting. He's already got a connection with the players he's supposed to lead. Whether Thomas rises to the challenge like Jason Thompson, thats a different story. But I'm sure IT will most likely start.
Brooks may be the veteran, but I think IT is the better player. I am not sure Brooks is really a great fit for the Kings; I think they would be better served with a solid defender and playmaker, rather than an instant offense type of player.
Couldn't agree more B-ball Fan. There won't be enough Balls on the court in Sactown. Aaron Brooks has got game but he's trigger happy too. The last thing they need is a another gunner. Reke, DMC, Thornton is enough already. I like IT at the 1 for Sacto. Whatever the case unless by some miracle of sorts... it doesn't look good for Jimmer in Sacto. Trade him to the Jazz for ticket sales or something.
JustaFan: who says the Jazz would take him. Just because he went to BYU and the fact that Utahns love him does not mean that Utah will take him. Utah does not make deals to satisfy the public. They make deals that are smart, that will help the team. Public satisfaction is second to them, and I don't think Jimmer would be a very smart addition for Utah. They already have 3 point guards(Williams, Tinsley, and Watson) and 3 shooting guards (Hayward, Burks, and Murphy). So once again playing time would be an issue.
Maybe Jimmer would do better in Philly since they just lost Lou Williams to the Hawks. They practically have no backup pg, and not really much shooting on the bench. (Meeks may leave for the Lakers) Even if Meeks doesn't leave, another shooter could always help. At least playing time won't be an issue there.
