SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantBeen watching Sabonis all year and I admit I’m a bit of a homer (zags fan) but this guy is a top 5 pick in my opinion. Who scores better back to the basket this year? Ben Simmons maybe..We will see if he comes out. I can see him staying another year.
Ingram also looked good. Has a sweet turn around.
Love ball

Hype MachineCould easily stay another year. Dude doesnt need the NBA money urgently and seems like him and his Dad are intellectual kinda guys who would value a degree more than the average NBA player.
I don’t see his stock dropping that much. Plus he’s going to be an endorsement machine in Lithuania and command decent money if he decides to play in Europe instead. The money is coming…so he can’t lose really. College does look more fun than NBA if you take the $$ out of it…plus a degree….I think he stays.

morestealsthanscoresParticipantmaybe not top 5, but definitely top 10 – especially if they can find a way to get past Utah. This Sabonis-Poetl matchup is going to do great things to one guy’s draft stock…

SpaceghostParticipantIts nice to see a big guy like Sabonis get and in there bang and board with skill. On the Flip side of that..AJ Hammonds is 7ft 260. is there a more meek big guy in the country. He always plays like he has some else to do. the Second Coming of Andrew Bynum
Sabonis vs Poetl old school hoops return!

Al PerezParticipantI’ve thought he was a lottery pick since last season……love his game…..won’t go Top 5 but could be one of the 5 best players out of this draft……I would love if he went to the Celtics

Magic JordanParticipantNot trying to poop on anybody’s party here but I haven’t watched a ton of the Zags. What I have seen of him doesn’t say top 5 to me at all. What are the appeals?

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantHis skill level is really high. Terrific footwork, soft hands, good back to the basket game. Can score in a variety of ways; finger rolls, put backs, jumpers, mini hook shots.
His biggest flaw to me is his lack of elevation. It looks like he’s got a 20 inch vert the way he plays and with what seem to be short arms that doesn’t help either.
He’s not top 5 to me, but he’s in my top 10.

lalailaParticipantBeen saying this for a while dont see what makes him worse pick than Ellenson or Poeltl..
two big things for a big men REBOUNDING and TOUCH, all guys has it but tell me what you want Domantas is better than them in both categories no doubt.
Very underrated passer too (got 4 last night)
and he is really quick for his size, hard to stop on his turnarounds and spin moves what also works very well in the NBA.
His shot has been looking better and better each month, the kid really works on his game.
Plus I dont like his measurements of 6’10 240lbs
I believe it’s the same what Wiltjer is listed and if you have watch them Sabonis has AT LEAST 1inch and 10-15lbs on him

GBeeParticipantI don’t see his back to the basket game translating bc he has t-rex arms. He’s got the length of an average to below average NBA SF. He’s not an amazing athlete either, so he’s not going to easily raise up and get his shot over defenders. He’d have to master up and unders, scoops and shots on the move a la Scola. IMO I think he’ll eventually find his offense in the mid, 2 man and clean up games.
I wouldn’t take him top 5 or even top 10, but he does have low bustability. He’s got a lot going for him: high IQ, great hands, good anticipation and physicality, etc, but he’s more of a high floor guy to me… something like a Nick Collison. Strong foundation player, someone the Spurs would take, but I don’t expect anything amazing.

GBeeParticipantOh and best back to the basket game from what I’ve seen is AJ Hammons. Not only does he have the dexterity and feel, but he also has the size ( and length) for it to translate. Long-term I’d say Ivica Zubac if he declares. Great footwork, touch, size.
Whoever mentioned Ben Simmons….lel. Maybe against SFs where he can just overwhelm with size, but he’s not gonna be successfully posting up PFs. His moves in the post actually suck IMO, and his pet move will get stuffed down his throat at the next level (right shoulder, right hand push shot).

mamadouParticipantI like Domantas, his demeanor, i like post players, footwork, hands, touch, i like bangers….
I discovered him last year when he was shooting like 81% from the field, with real basketball plays, moves, shots.
But the nba don’t like these guys anymore…
He’s too big for an nba PF, he’s too small/short/slow/unathletic for an nba C…he won’t guard stretch fours, tweeners, he won’t defend the PNR either, he won’t guard anybody just like simmons in fact…
Rim protection- shooting- range- O/D versatility, that’s what they want nowadays.
You ain’t gonna win ball games with big al, okafor as bigmens, or a true PG like rondo, it is what it is, i regret it….i like old school bigs and true playmakers, they’re obsolet.
Dunn and Sabonis are jazz bound more than top 5-10 for that reason.
