Yes I am asking for your thoughts on Harrow and his NBA potential.
I was on that bandwagon that said he'd never make it,but after watching him for a handful of games this year and then watching him destroy Elfrid Payton and Louisiana Lafeyette for 37,Im kind of changing my mind.
He has a full year left to show more of what he has, while I still think his size(6'2 160) will be a major red flag along with him not being a true PG nor an elite athlete,I think he can be a 3rd string type PG possibly in the League a John Lucas the third type.
i dont think he has a future in the NBA, in any role.
he utterly destroyed his draft stock last year. he played on the biggest stage against top oppoenents and he flopped hard. he showed at Kentucky last year that he's physically and mentally weak.
he's been pretty good at Gerogia St. but i dont see him ever making an NBA roster.
I doubt he is 6'2. I'm thinking 6ft flat and 160lbs.
He is lighthing quick with handles, but he is so mentally weak and skidish nothing is going to happen for him until that changes.
the guy has never shot over 30% from 3's in his entire career with nc state, kentucky or ga st. i just don't see how that will make it in the nba unless you have some rajon rondo or tj ford type intangibles.
I think 'mentally weak' is a harsh judgment for a college player. His dad was sick so he transferred to be closer to him. He's basically Brandon Jennings, maybe a poor man's version. He has that same skinny guy athleticism that doesn't work in the nba, streaky jumpshot and handles. I think he'll be a bench player or something.
Zero chance to make an NBA roster. Look at marquise Teague he gets absolutely no run and he is a much more proven player in just his one year.
I think a lot of his epic failure had to do with the amount of hype he had going into that season. Do you remember how bad he was killed by cal in those preseason tv shows. That's a lot to handle.
I think he has a chance man...slim, but still a chance.
People forget that he still averaged 10 pts a game at Kentucky on a team that would've gone to the tourney if not for Noel's injury. Also, who knows how much his dad's health and his own sickness effected his game last year.
I agree its hard to picture but he did destroy a projected first rounder twice this year and still has a year left. He will no doubt play-for-pay some day but if he averages 20+pts a game next year and leads his team to another good season he may get drafted.
Right my whole point wasnt arguing that he was a bonafide draft pick, but I think he has shown this year that he can play, and he has destroyed Elfrid Payton and Harrow has one year left to prove his weak points.
But he has to bulk up for sure 160 pounds isnt going to cut it especially when you got guards at 6'0 in the NBA who weigh 205(Bledsoe for example) and are more athletic than you
you have to take into account his age, he's going to be a redshirt senior next year.
he doesnt have much upside and is jus a good college player, jus not someone who has what it takes to make the NBA.
he doesnt posses the physical tools and doesnt have much of a skillset. he has good handles and is pretty quick, but has an inconsistent jumper, doesnt have 3 point range and has a really little frame. his weight has been a problem since HS and it looks like he hasnt gained a single pound since then, so its safe to say he's not going to get any bigger heading into next year.
he didn't "destroy" Payton... In fact, Payton did not gaurd him mostly, he gaurded RJ Hunter. I attend GSU.
Harrow was in the zone but I don't want the idea that he destroyed DPOY Payton.... not true. He DID give him a few buckets on switches.
I attend GA State, been to every game btw.
As far as the NBA goes, Harrow without a doubt has the talent and the skill. He is a little old but he still has a solid amount of potential too imo. Hes not really fast, but hes not that slow... like others have stated, hes quick... but its definitely not elite. His handle is elite though, like best handle in recent years elite.
His shot is ridiculously streaky. He gets a solid number of on ball steals as well.
And for the record, he's definitely better than Marq Teague in just about every category imo.
1. He needs 15 lbs of muscles.
2. Work on his mental.
3. Three point shooting improvement.
4. Playing in the attach position.
Rafer Alston was damn near the same size and he was pretty effective.
37 points. Hell of a game
After watching those Highlights (which were incredible) im convinced, he can make it. Ry is my youngbul. Knew him since he was young... Hes a humble dude. He struggled last year in the spotlight. But i know its lesser comp at GA st, but hes been impressive. Hes not bigger than Teague, Stevie Franchise or even Jennings, but hes in that Mold. He has the NBA speed and quickness, but can he guard anyone will be the question. Heck, look at how Pierre Jack is getting treated.. I Hope Ry makes it, but you never know. It will be tuff to see if he comes back or just declares because he is older and he played great this year. It will be his 5th year if he comes back. Those highlights were sick tho, too bad they lost. They would have been a tuff out in the tourney, That kid on GA state reminds me of Klay Thompson as well.. RJ Hunter i think his named is.. Hes on the NBA radar as well
I think he can make it, it'll be a tough task but with another years to get better and showcase his talent I think he can end up in the league. He really needs to put on some weight though and try to become a better overall player but if he can show that work ethic over the summer I think hell be fine
Rafer Alston was not anywhere near 160 pounds more like 180-190.
