So, if I’m not mistaken Russell Westbrook currently has around 41 triple-doubles, which puts him at fifth of all time behind Fat Lever’s 44. Last year he had 17 and this year might have more than that. May we see Russell break Jason Kidd’s record of 118 triple doubles? If so, how soon?

It’s not Jason Kidd’s record. Both Oscar Robertson (181) and Magic Johnson (138) have more.

Fat Lever is tied with Lebron James (43) for 6th all time. Russell Westbrook has 41. He is 2 behind them and did it in 398 faster than Lebron.

I am not sure anything should slow Russell’s rythm this year. previously when Durant was out he already was putting ridiculous numbers and I think Donovan’s coaching even enhances that.

So far he is very close to averaging a triple double and has 5 triple double in 14 games. I don’t what the variance is supposed to be for numbers like assists and rebounds but I think this pace is on par or subpar. So unless he slows down somehow RW should be able to make between 25 and 35 triple double a year. That makes Kidd’s number reachable but Robertson would require at least 3 years at this pace (3 years would need him to make 40 triple doubles on the rest of his career, at 31+…) with no injury or so few, that’s probably impossible.

thing is, it’s great and all, but his team is not looking very good, this guy could end up adveraging a triple double and not win MVP because of the team’s success.
