valentineThe refs missed another crucial call in Game 1 of the Thunder-Warriors series. The Thunder were leading by three with under 20 seconds left when Russell Westbrook raced up court and appeared to travel by dragging his right pivot foot before calling timeout. The timeout was awarded to Oklahoma City as Golden State’s home crowd booed the no-call mercilessly. The only question is if Westbrook correctly called the timeout before traveling.

Reptilian MonkParticipantIt may have been a travel but that call did not decide the game. Westbrook played big in the 2nd half with the Thunder outrebounding the Dubs in the 2nd half. The Warriors offense was off in the 4th and Steph played bad in the 4th and had lots of turnovers. Should be a great series.

llperezhe traveled but it was minor by nba standards. Guys travel and commit lane violations on ft’s and grab jerseys, refs arent making that call in that situation unless it super obvious.

Hype MachineThat was a travel….but this is the NBA.
I saw a 25 step travel by Josh Smith on Shaqtin a fool not long ago. But my favourite all time is Corey Brewers in the open court.
What are these referees watching

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantYou say enforce the rules, but what about all those no calls on Westbrook and durant tonight?

mopoParticipantIt’s the end of a close playoff game. Russ is clearly trying to get to his spot to call a timeout. Yes the foot dragged, but it didn’t give OKC any advantage there. Let the play on the court determine the game.
I side with the no call

Arc12345ParticipantIt’s a good no call. The travel gave him no advantage from a basketball perspective. As many have said, he clearly was trying to call time out.
On a side note…I just know Golden State isn’t complaining about officiating…do they not realize the number of calls they got during the year? Draymond’s moving screen against Miami…Steph’s blatant foul on Lance Stephenson against Memphis towards the end of the year…countless Bogut moving screens…and they’re complaining about this? Please, play ball. Thunder won that game fair and square.

SubZeroParticipantYes, it was a travel. Yes, Klay fouled him the whole way up the court. Yes, Billy was trying to call timeout before Russ ever stopped. Let’s not act like this cost the game for Golden State.
Plus, I love that fans are saying “ENFORCE THE RULES” and are acting like it’s a tragedy they didn’t call such an obvious travel, but if the refs called every travel (which would be almost every play), the game would be unwatchable and they would complain even more. People wouldn’t have cared if this was against any other team besides Golden State (so many “fans” now all of the sudden). I just hope all these games that we’ve supposedly won because of the refs this year doesn’t taint OKC’s legacy if we end up advancing
