I got a chance to watch him a few nights ago and I was VERY IMPRESSED.  His length, motor, and toughness will make him a starting center in the league very soon and one of the best defensive centers in today’s game. He’s a game changer on the defensive end right now.  If his offense comes along at all, WATCH OUT!

Reminds of Javale McGee, except not an idiot and looks like a guy willing to put in the work.

Jabari Parker would fit in so perfectly.

    Imagine a line up of

    PG-Burke

    SG-Haywerd

    SF-Parker

    PF-Favors

    C-Gobert

    6th man-Burks

    7th man-Kanter

Can you imagine the potential to this team? Through the roof.

The Jazz will be a dangerous team once they get some experience and start to gel with one another. They’re a pretty fun team to watch.

They have tried Kanter and favors on the floor together and it hasn’t worked out yet. Neither has shown the ability to play the 4 yet and now that favors is 270lbs I just don’t see him as a pf going forward eventually. I think they are sticking to having only one of the big guys on the floor at a time. Obviously there is more time for them to get better bc they are so young but thus far it hasn’t worked with the floor spacing. I initially saw the favors Kanter duo and one of the best young big men duos in the NBA but now it’s looking like they jazz will have to move one of them to clear some playing time for Gobert

Couldn’t resist posting on this topic as I’ve just commented on Favours and Kanter on other posts. Gobert is still a prospect but gives Utah a nice alternative to Favours and Kanter.

I was surprised he slipped down the draft as much as he did last year as he was effectively a low risk high upside pick when Utah took him.

I think if he had been in the NCAA last year, he’d have perhaps gone inside the lottery top 14, certainly in the top 20.
