tblazer_NZParticipantWhat do you think about this trade rumor? Rudy Gay will be starting his new contract this coming season which is 40m/3years. Rudy averaged 21.1/5.9/3.7 as a second option to Cousins during a personal rebound season. What are the values of these respective players?

thebmaestroParticipantThe Kings have been rumored to want Lawson, which makes sense as Lawson was the one who ran George Karl’s offense quite well when he was the head coach of the Nuggets. On the Nuggets side, they already have Wilson Chandler and Danilo Gallinari, both who have skill sets similar to Gay’s. Furthermore, Gay has never been a particularly efficient player, so I’m not quite sure what the Nuggets have to gain with obtaining Rudy Gay. They would be better drafting Mario Hezonja, Justise Winslow, or Stanley Johnson with the 7th pick.

The GoatParticipantId keep Rudy Gay for now and look at other moves. I think every GM is balking at offers for Lawson at the moment cos his trade value is at an all time low. Denver are looking to ship him out and everyone knows it. George Karl is going to have to give up a lot more than he should if he starts making noise about how much he wants Lawson. I think Sacramento has serious issues to deal with (in a hurry) if you have a new coach that does not want to keep their best player and an ownership group that does.

thebmaestroParticipantI believe it was Ty Lawson + Wilson Chandler + Kenneth Faried (three players that have been starters on Karl coached Nuggets teams) for DeMarcus Cousins. In that situation, the Nuggets would need to find a way to sign a PG (maybe Jeremy Lin). That said, the Kings could do a lot worse than 3 starters who have a fairly successful track record playing under George Karl.

TheTruth86ParticipantTy Lawson and DMC – I see chemistry issues here, still mr. Karl should know better.
