Is Rudy Gay gone for sure?

Most experts have the Grizzlies drafting Luke Babbitt, Paul George, or some even have Gordon Hayward with the 12th pick. All of these guys play the SF.
So do you think the Griz will let Gay walk or try to do a sign and trade?
Or do you think even if the Griz draft one of those guys they might keep Rudy?
What is the possible trade value for Rudy Gay ( 20 pts 6 rebounds 2 assists 1.5 steals and 1 blk per)?
Also let me know what you think the Griz should do in the draft with the 12, 25, and 28.

rudy gay

is a nice player, but he's not grade A...that being said, I think the Griz like him and would like to keep him
I don't think they'll overpay for him, however...some desperate team with cap room may feel compelled to throw a lot of cash at him when they can't sign a top tier FA (minn/LAC), so perhaps a sign and trade can be worked out

I have the Griz taking Babbitt/George or Davis @ 12, bledsoe/armon johnson @ 25, and maybe a reach for ryan richards @ 28 unless they deal the pick or draft a Euro for later

Rudy Gay's ideal situation

Rudy Gay's ideal situation would be Memphis, he has guys like Mayo, Randolph and Gasol who are great players, their team underachieved this season but it is still a good team. He is a great player but not a Max deal player and he should realize that. If they are drafting a SF at 12 then it would be to come off the bench because they are in desperate need of a consistent bench to be a Playoff team. I do not really know who they should pick where to be honest with you due to the fact I am not really familiar with who Memphis is interested in and who they have been working out etc etc

honestly heisley said he will

honestly heisley said he will keep gay no matter the cost but i find that hard to believe, with an offer close to max that he will receive from one of those desperate teams i think he's gone, i hope we can get something of value in return, but rudy's production will sorely be missed if we lose him this year

Im not a Knicks hater just

Im not a Knicks hater just trying to be a realist. With all these Knick fans on here that are sure they are signing Lebron and maybe Bosh. I just dont see it happening.

If the Knicks sign any of the big three free agents (bron, bosh, wade) I will be nothing but happy for you guys, and I will never post on here again.

No

He is no where gone for sure. Just because mocks have us drafting at those positions is because backup sf and value is a need for us. Our biggest need is backup PG but no one is worth the 12th so we move to the SF's and their value. Never hurt to have a plan B either

No need for a SF

SF: Rudy Gay 6-8, Ronnie Brewer 6-7, Sam Young 6-6

The Grizzlies have good backups at SF.

What the Grizzlies need is a PG/SG or PF depth.

Avery Bradley, Ed Davis, Patrick Patterson or Ekpe Udoh all seem like good fits for them at #12.

Based on what Iguodala got, 2

Based on what Iguodala got, 2 years ago, I believe Rudy Gay should get a similar payday. $80 mil over the course of six years. I don't think thats too much for a player of his caliber. The owner better step up and prove you wanna win. The way Rudy has improved over his career, when many thought he'd be a bust or will never be more than a role player in this league, has really been impressive, taking and making big shots for the Grizz. Obviously he isn't a max player, you could prolly count those kind of players on one hand. But he's a key cog in what they got going on in Memphis.

Gay is Gone

i think the guys bags are already packed. I see the clippers as being an ideal place for him. to play in L.A. with an already good team jus seems 2 good for him to pass up. also he wont be the #1 option there and he wont have alot of pressure on him to put up 20 plus a nite so he can comfortably fit in
