Watching Rudy at the end of last season was sad, he wasn’t shooting well which was his role on the team and he was basically pouting on the bench. He is 25 and being over 3 years older than the starter Battum. Rudy will continue to be a backup for the blazers where he doesn’t want to be. The only trade the Blazers would make for Rudy is for a young talented/potential point guard that would be an upgrade over Baylis.

I can definitely see Rudy going back overseas like JCV. In ACB he’s a superstar, here overseas he’s nothing more than a role player and I’m sure coming over he thought he’d be a star.

Rudy best player in the League ( for the money) there is no other million dollar player like him. He should be a starter somewhere but he plays with an all star sg.

Not sure about that. I was reading his original interview in Catalan language. It’s not that he wants to go home. I think he’s fine either staying in the NBA or going back home: Barcelona is waiting to understand what’s going on with him.

His problem is playing time. He wants to play, possibly in a good team. If he stays, he wants to play for another team. But first of all, he wants to play.

In Spain he’s going to earn more money. That’s because rookie scale salary is really poor right now: a good 2nd rounder gets more than a 27th or 25th pick. Spurs had to wait years to free Splitter from that.

Point is, I think he still want to succeed in the NBA. But he wants a fair chance: playing time above all. If he can have it, he’s fine with staying. He already losed money in these two years in the NBA (European clubs offered him a lot of money). For example, I think he would be fine being traded to the Knicks.

Anyway, we shouldn’t forget that Portland has a contract with him. They’ll try to have back whatever they can from this transation…
