jaycee24ParticipantIn theory this is a good idea but Reke is better suited with the ball as a point. If Rubio was there Reke wouldnt be able to do the things he was able to do last year which was scoring off the dribble and creating offense for others. Reke might still score but I think at lesser rate and lower percentage. I also think he and Rubio wouldnt mesh because both of them would want to be the guy in Sacramento.

Nugz10Participanthow would they be able to get rubio and still keep their pick drafting cousins?? I’m sure Minnesota would be asking for that pick in any package for rubio.

OhCanada-ParticipantCall me crazy but it seems to me that Rubio fits perfectly in Minnesota especially considering that every player they have on that team is not a difinite keeper and solution to any of there problems. They have a chance to use him as the face of there franchise.

llperezi always appreciate when people break news they include a source or at least mention where they heard it so i dont have to search around to see if there is any truth to it.

BasketBalAllanParticipantI think that the Kings are one of those teams who would actually benefit from more of a shooting PG who is not a liability on defense. I also agree that the Wolves would most likely want the fifth pick this year in return. The largest problem though is that what I have seen from Rubio so far does not at all say that he handles himself well when things do not go his way. I can see problems between it being Tyreke’s team and Rubio wanting to be the main attraction.

RaraavisParticipantTimberwolves GM David Kahn calls Rubio the one untouchable piece on his roster and Rubio stated he has no problem playing for Minnesota. Rubio, just meet in Spain with Kahn and Kurt Rambis and apparently Kurt and Ricky hit it off. Rubio was quoted as saying he could definetly play for Rambis.
Unless they are offered John Wall or Evan Turner straight up for Rubio on Draft Day, Rubio will not be traded.

BasketBalAllanParticipantYou might want to read the thread one more time, either that or I have to, because I did not see anywhere where it said to trade Tyreke for Rubio.

Lil B to GSWParticipanthighly doubt full, im pretty sure that t-wolves want rubio and are unwilling to trade him unless its wall or turner or a nba big name.

kanebangerParticipantIf someone traded evans for rubio they should be shot

BasketBalAllanParticipantAgreed. It would have been like last year if the bulls had traded Rose for one of the four players who were taken 1-4; as you can see, only two might have been worth it and that’s only if Blake gets better and has the impact people expect him to have.

jordanandersonParticipantThere is zero truth to trading Rubio, the Wolves management makes visit to Spain frequently and the word is that he is finally starting to warm up to the idea of coming to Minnesota.

cumoneileen8ParticipantAs Raraavis said, Wolves really aren’t interested in giving him up so this is highly unlikely.
If they could get the #2 for him and maybe their last pick in the 1st round I’d say do it. Pick Turner at 2, and Wes at 4…
flynn, turner, johnson, love, jefferson = nice
Not a lot of D on that team but a whole ton of offense. Plus their remaining 1st round pick could be Udoh or Larry Sanders for a real presence on the back line.

jordanandersonParticipantRubio Warming To Timberwolves, Says Kahn
Jun 05, 2010 9:18 AM ESTRicky Rubio hit it off with Timberwolves coach Kurt Rambis when the two met for the first time last week and the Spanish point guard told friends that “he can envision playing for Kurt.”
That’s what Minnesota vice president David Kahn said Friday after returning from a scouting trip in Europe.
“They have the best possibility because they hold my rights, and they’ve shown me how much they want me,” Rubio told the Associated Press this week. “And for that, I have to be thankful toward them.”
He will not play in the NBA next season.
Rubio and his father had dinner with Rambis and Kahn in Barcelona last week.
“It was consistent with everything we’ve said all along,” Kahn said. “I fully expect to see Ricky in a Wolves uniform after next season.”

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantRubio for the Kings 5th overall and cash…maybe even a lottery protected pick in 2011 or 2012…Thats a fair deal…Maybe they give you Casspi or Green or Hawes…People have said it clearly above^^^^^^^^
” Rubio’s finally warming up to the Wolves” Doesn’t that mean he was very cold on the Wolves???
And wouldn’t their be meetings if there was a trade being worked out…They can love him all they want…It aint happening…And getting a top 5 pick for him this draft and maybe a future pick next year is good value back…If they plan on dealing for Turner and using 4th pick to get him…they can with no regrets…They’ll get Monroe at 5 and the 23rd will still get them a defensive big or scoring guard…
