tli232When I see Royce White, I can’t help but compare him to James Johnson of the Raptors.
High energy, good athlete, not yet smooth handles, can do a little of everything.
His anxiety stuff aside, if he does indeed project to be a James Johnson type of player, how high does he go?
I think he’d be a steal late in the first round as a guy who can come off the bench for a contender and bring that raw energy to lift the second unit.

Chilbert arenasParticipantHe needs to work on his body some more, he’s almost too thick, needs to get that body fat percentage down.

river09ParticipantHis well rounded and skilled game reminds me of a bigger stronger maybe even more athletically imposing Andre Iguodala. A type of player that stands at 6’8” 260 lbs that can steal the ball at one end then handle to the top of the key drive and dish or take it to the hole himself don’t come along every day. The only real threat he’s missing right now is a jumper, if that does start showing itself and his anxiety issues go away, we could be looking at a future all-star… He’s still young, turning 21 in a month…

FastAndFuriousParticipantI like the James Johnson comparison alot, I think he can handle the ball a little bit better than Johnson, while Johnson is more athletic but the comparison is dead on, especially Johnson’s days back at Wake Forest!

heelsfan1307ParticipantWhat about Boris Diaw? Same type of body size.. Royce has a little more muscle. They are both decent shooters and both look to pass often.

GrandmamaParticipantI think he’s a lot like Boris Diaw. Big man who can handle the ball and has good passing ability. Not a good shooter.

NotHamedHaddadiParticipantYeah Him and Boris Diaw are too similar, great passing big men who can rebound, score, and have weight problems lol

Future_Scouthe’s got more point forward-forward skills than dial, he’s got more handles, he’s way more athletic and a better dunker, he’s a better defender and a more willing one, he’s a better rebounder, he’s got by far better foot work.
wouldn’t this make him igoudala?
(this is beyond complicated to explain, but this move really impressed me, lebron does it alot) so after a defensive rebound, white is bring the ball down at a fast pace, and as he slows down he puts his knees/legs straight and does a feet shuffle (like a footplayer showboating as he gets to the goal line. the lil run they do without flexing their knees, with their legs straight)- [this works as a hesitation dribble on the break, to get your defender unbalanced] so after the feet shuffle he changed paced super quickly and blew by his defender to draw the foul on a big at the rim.
COULD IT BE? perhaps royce white and lorenzo brown despite both being 20, are tops in potential in this draft!

Future_Scoutsome point guards cant do that move successfully^

river09ParticipantThere’s no reason for him not being able to improve his jumper… Time and again people have improved their jumpers once they get into the league.. I don’t see the Diaw comparison at all.. How are they similar coming out of college (Diaw didn’t even go to college I believe)? Same body types? Royce is an athletic bear whereas Diaw is just a somewhat athletic skinny guy. They are both skilled true but Royce has always had more potential than Diaw (who is 29 right now) but overall the only similarities they have is they are both 6′ 8” and play with their heads up passing well. But Royce plays like the on-ball Lebron of the NCAA not the post up unorthodox off ball game that Diaw has always had…..

uknationParticipantBoris is a good one. He is not WAY more athletic than in shape Boris and he isn’t close to being as athletic as Iggy

jerb2011ParticipantI just hope OKC can get him to back up KD and have him, Eric Maynor, and James Harden coming off the bench

JNixonParticipantBoris Diaw is a perfect comparison IMO
