GTS 23ParticipantIs he a good fit for the Celtics? Almost every nba draft site has white going to Boston. But do we really need a 6-8 SF-PF? Id rather pick fab melo at no21 or 22 despite that everyone would consider him a "reach". The Celtics need SIZE and im sure melo will not be as bad as ryan hollins.

Wahoo757ParticipantHe’s better making plays with the ball in his hands, but the Celtics already have Rondo and Pierce for their primary ball handlers and playmakers. I’d rather see the Celtics go with a big and a really good shooter to replace Jermaine O’ Neal and Ray Allen. So perhaps a Fab Melo/Doron Lamb combo in the first round.

TMoney617ParticipantYou know they do have back-to-back picks so they could still technically get Fab Melo and Royce White but if Doron Lamb is there, he definitely should be one of those picks.

GrandfiNalley101ParticipantIf they can get White then they should. He can play with the secound unit and they can keep there core together. He is a top 10 talent and maybe top 5. It’s hard to argue with with Melo and Perhaps a Jeffery Taylor. I think Melo can Rebound and block shots. Taylor is an underated wing who can shoot and defend now. I know they have Pietrus(spellcheck)coming off the bench but he’s versatile enough to gaurd the 2. With both I doubt they could beat Chicago or Miami but I would like to see them try. I like Nicholson and White like the site predicts but all of this will change. Nice thread and I’m glad that you brought it up.

FearTheStacheParticipantI think they should go with Royce White and Festus Ezeli

B-ball fanParticipantNo, there will be more talent available at that pick. The Celtics should target some high upside prospects to help Rondo and prepare for the future.
I don’t like picking Melo because I just don’t see what he can do that Stiemsma can’t do better. I suppose he has a little higher upside than Stiemsma, but I doubt he really becomes the superior player.

JoeWolf1I’ve heard they are really high on Draymond Green. If they are going to go with a versitile forward in that range, I bet they draft Green. White may have higher potential, but I bet a veteran team like the Celtics would choose a player like Green.
They drafted Johnson and Moore last year and I wouldn’t be surprised if they took a safe pick for one of their first rounders and gambled on the other. White does a lot of the same things Green does, but Green is a safer player due to fewer character concerns and no weight problems.

GrandmamaParticipantI’ve got them taking Moe Harkless and the best SG available.

Meditated StatesParticipantI perfer Ezeli. They need more depth at two guard asap. They will have chances to pull off some trades too. Could be a short rebuild.

JoeWolf1Don’t you think Ezeli is a reach that high? He seems like a great gamble in the 2nd round, you’d be passing over dozens of better players for a team fit. A couple is okay, but if you’re taking Ezeli at 20 or 21, you’re just passing over way too much talent to grab a position need.

TheDagger40ParticipantI have the Celtics taking Moe Harkless with the 21st pick. He’s has a high upside and is gifted athletically (6"8 tall, 7"2 wingspan, runs the floor well.) He can provide scoring off the bench and when Pierce retires, he takes over groomed and ready under Pierce’s wing.
With the 21st pick, I don’t mind if they get a big like Fab Melo or Andrew Nicholson. Either Melo could patrol the paint or Nicholson could provide interior scoring at the 4.
I wouldn’t mind if they package one or both of the first round picks to move up and get an extremely high upside guy or gifted big man. (PJ3, Drummond, Leonard, or Moultrie)
