I see them as being the MAJOR sleepers of this years draft. Both those guys can hoop and while neither may win rookie of the year, I think both can contribute to a solid team right off the bat. Royce is someone I think can really really shock dudes though. His game reminds me of Anthony Mason. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him having box scores like 12, 8 and 5 in the next 2-3 years.

Albicy is a real point guard. He’ll dictate the pace of the game if giving the minutes and opportunity. The only knock I have on him is he will turn 23 during next season which isn’t old by any means but he doesnt have much "prospect" time as far as errors and growth go. If he was here in the U.S. he would be a senior but 23 is young as a man and regardless of the common "big potiential" nonsense, the guy can hoop.

Who you picking as a sleeper, if any?

The only knock is not his age, but his size, he is around 5’9 and while he is an above average athlete it will still be incredibly hard for such a small guard to compete in the league where we have so many strong, big and physical point guards. Especially, when his frame is thin, his build is nowhere near Nate Robinson’s who is built like a NFL player. I believe he can be a very good player, but doubt that he can be an impact player in the NBA.

I think (especially lately) we have seen smaller sized point guards make a positive impact in the league. Now, none of them are elite point guards or franchise players by any means but dudes like JJ Barea and Isiah Thomas would be welcomed on just about every team in the league. Both those guys are coming off seasons where they averaged around 11 and 5. That’s nothing to frown at but you are right though, big dudes like Rose and Westbrook will cause major issues for Albicy on the defensive end. Even with that though, I’m seeing mock drafts say he might go undrafted?!? I would not mind spending an early 2nd round pick on him. Shit if I’m Miami with the 27th pick I’d bring dude in for a tryout. But if history means anything these days, he’ll drop to 59th and get picked up by San Antonio which naturally means he’ll be a future HOF ahahahaha

I also don’t think Albicy’s age matters, for the simple fact he’s already been a PRO for the last couple years and has been playing in a high level pro league in France,it’s not like he’s 23 and just leaving college and will be enetring his first year as a Pro.

    The problem is his size

    agree about both guys:
Royce White being the most underrated player in the first round(together with Doron Lamb), has lottery talent and big upside.
Andrew Albicy the most underrated player of the second round, pure PG who is NBA ready, identical to Isaiah Thomas as a player, could be a sleeper pick, i see him going anywhere between #31 and #60.

I see your point, but what I wanted to point out was not his height, there definetely is a solid amount of small guards who have a strong impact in league, but frame. If you look at JJ Barea, Thomas or Robinson, you can clearly see that they all are built like tanks, which helps them to hold their own defensively, while Andrew has muscles, no doubt about it, he isn’t built like a barrel. But that’s only my view, and I would be very happy if he succeed in the NBA, he is really good passer, good athlete and improving shooter, not to mention his super quickness. I think that at some point when you are smaller it helps you a bit, because you kinda have a chip on your shoulder to prove all doubters that size doesn’t matter. So, I just wish him best of luck.

I agree with that. I read that he weighs around 170. Unless you have something like less than .5% body fat, that isn’t going to work ahahahaha

I do think him and Royce are sleepers though.

What are your thoughts on Royce the 6’8?!?

Albicy is fine at his weight, he’s not diesel, but he’s also not that skinny, speed kills and he has that.

In my opinion, Will Barton should be a 1st rounder and, if he goes to the right team, I think he could be better than Dion Waiters.

I also think that Quincy Miller is a sleeper.  He was certainly limited by his ACL tear, and, if fully recovered, he could become one of the better scorers in this draft if he develops his overall game.

I also like that Cameron Moore from UAB was added to the mock draft.  He isn’t really likely to become an NBA rotation player, but if he gets stronger, he could stick in the league as a 3rd string big man.

Well I’m french so maybe I can give you my opinion on him without being influenced 🙂 I perhaps watched him a couple of times on the court, and maybe a dozen of his brodcasted games in proA (french league).

Albicy began to play as a pro for Paris (first pro team of Tony Parker) and quickly began to have playing time. He was lacking shooting touch but already got good instincts and high motor (he’s a pest on D). When he moved to Gravelines he vastly improved his game.

Albicy is now an average shooter (but in improvement) who behaves like a true pg, running the system and always under control. He has a good handle and creates for others (very unselfish player). He’s a good teammate and a hard worker. He has already performed well for the french national team and seems to have strong mental tools. His major skills stays the great defensive threat he is : stealing the ball in hands, playing passing lanes, putting pressure on the other pg.

Size is the issue (5.10 with shoes) which limits his potential developement. He has a strong body (always in good shape) and a high motor for sure. The fact that he is small and doesn’t have nba range should make him very predictable in the nba and avoid him from being drafted. But with a late 2nd round pick a team could decide to bring a 3rd pg pushing for minutes. If not he will have a nice european carreer.

I don’t see it happenning but last year’s end of 2nd round… tanguy who ??? chubachuba what ?
