PHILADELPHIA — Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose hasn’t forgotten the way the Indiana Pacers celebrated on the United Center floor after a win on Jan. 25, and he is looking forward to facing them again on Monday night at the UC.

"I haven’t forgotten about anything," Rose said Sunday night after a win over the Philadelphia 76ers. "I remember that.

"They’re a good team. I know they’re definitely going to be ready. I know we’re going to be ready. And it should be an exciting game."

The Pacers’ exuberance even carried over into the locker room, where several Bulls players remarked how they could hear the noise through the walls.

"I’ll never forget how they celebrated just from winning this game," Rose told reporters after the loss in January. "I can’t wait to play them again."

Bulls guard Ronnie Brewer said on "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN 1000 on Jan. 26 that the Bulls could hear the Pacers celebrating and screaming in the locker room, and that it hit home with several of his teammates.

Pacers coach Frank Vogel defended his team’s actions while appearing on "The Scott Van Pelt Show" on ESPN Radio on Jan. 30.

"I don’t know if we really celebrated any more than a lot of teams celebrated when they get a road win," Vogel said. "I know they’ve got a couple guys on their team who celebrate on every play. I just think it’s the thrill of victory.

"If they want to add some spice to the rivalry we welcome that. Rivalries are fun. Winning is fun. It’s all good."

Rose had wanted revenge against the Sixers after losing to them earlier in the season, and he exacted that revenge on Sunday with 35 points.

"It’s fun," Rose said. "It’s going to be a fun couple of days, man. Where we got the opportunity to play two great teams that really beat us pretty good. With Indiana, they beat us at home last time. And [I] just can’t wait to play."

Bulls center Joakim Noah also acknowledged that he was excited about playing the Pacers again.

"We’ve just got to come with the right mindset [Monday]," Noah said. "We definitely will. And it’s going to be fun."

Noah had a slightly different perspective than Rose, however.

"Derrick gets hype off people celebrating," Noah said. "When people talk about celebration I just feel like, ‘You’re not going to out-celebrate me.’ Roy Hibbert cannot out-celebrate me. So if they want to see some celebration when we win, I can show them some celebration … I know how to celebrate."

Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau tried to keep everything in perspective. He wants his team to focus on the Pacers because it’s the next game on the schedule.

"That’s the NBA," he said. "Every day you go from one game to the next and you’ve got to be ready. And whatever the circumstances are, you’ve got to be ready to face that team; when the ball goes up, you’ve got to be ready. If you want to find an excuse, you can find one every night. If you don’t want to find one, you won’t find one."

Rose, who admitted on Sunday morning that it was tough to watch tape of a loss to the Sixers earlier last month, feels that his team owes one to the Pacers as well. He knows the Bulls could see both teams at some point in the postseason.

"We know that this is a team we could definitely see in the playoffs," he said. "Knowing how good they are. It’s fun, we got to go out there and keep ballin’, playing together. And playing defense."

By the sound of this, Derrick Rose is going to go off tonight and probably drop 40+.  Seriously, when’s the last time Rose publicly spoke about a team that pissed him off?

I haven’t a single specific example of inapprorpiate celebratory conduct by a Pacer, so I don’t get what Rose is B****** about, aside from the usual celebration that accompanies a road victory against your division rival, one of the league’s elite teams (who also put the Pacers out of the playoffs last year).

If you’re gonna be #1, you gotta get over the fact that teams are gonna play you with a chip on their shoulder.  When they beat you, it’s gonna have a little extra meaning to it, so Rose needs to "Suck it up, Buttercup"

Has sort of owned Darren Collison for a while. I mean, there have been cases of guys owning another player in college and not being exponentially better than them in the pro’s (Tyrus Thomas LSU/LaMarcus Aldridge Texas NCAA Tournament 2006. LA got owned, got last laugh). But, Derrick Rose outscored Darren Collison 25-2 when Memphis played UCLA (who were my favorite to win the championship that season) in the 2008 Final Four.

I know Derrick did not shoot exceptionally well against the Pacers in last years play-offs, but he tends to put up his best against Collison. Lets just say, a motivated Derrick Rose against that guy sounds like a big game to me. If the Bulls lose this one, I would be very surprised. Regardless of victory or loss though, D-Rose kills it tonight.

IDK…  I mean if he heard them through the walls I’m sure YOU specifically wouldn’t have seen it…  I’m sure it was more than the casual hollering and screaming that accompanies a win on the NBA’s best team… If D. Rose making a big deal outta of this for no reason at least its something that will be entertiaining to us…

I’m taking a pause on them because I had all the information on my other laptop and it broke so I’m getting it repaired.

Maybe we found Rose’ achilles heel…Get him him too motivated…Most games he looks like he’s about to fall asleep out there and drops 30…

Danny Granger, David West and Roy Hibbert didn’t show up tonight. And Hansbrough didn’t put it on Boozer tonight like he usually does lol.

When you get outrebounded by almost 30, it doesn’t matter if the MVP of the league has an off night.

The only positives for the Pacers tonight were Paul George and George Hill.

I’m really down on Collison. We need an upgrade at the point bad.

I am 100% with you on that, we don’t need SG as bad as a PG. The question is what do you give up to get one?

and seriously why does everybody like rose’s attitude???? he is an amazing player but im not digging the whole "humble" attitude. do u know how boring the nba would be if everyone was like him, "Most games he looks like he’s about to fall asleep." mr.19124

maybe that’s part of being great a winner, his calmed attitude, but i’m all about watching playing’s characters like nate robinson, kg, lebron dancing, kobe, etc etc…

Yeah you make a point we don’t want basketball to turn into baseball because it’s an intense emotional game which is what makes it great.

But I don’t think Rose is humble as much as he’s just himself.  He seems authentic unlike so many other stars who either reek of arrogance or try to hard to live up to a brand.

Honestly during interviews he seems slow almost like if Rose weren’t playing basketball he’d probably be collecting SSI checks for being mentally impaired.  I don’t think he’s the brightest bulb outside of basketball.  But Rose just comes off as himself, even Lebron who I love sometimes tries to hard to get people to like him, Rose on the otherhand don’t even seem cognivetent of what other people think.

In a lot of ways he reminds me of Iverson without the gangsta swag which would make him David Stern’s wet dream.

And George was probably matched up with him cuz’ besides speed an strength Rose has like a 6’9" wingspan so he’s able to shoot over opposing PG"s extremely easy especially one’s as tall as Collison so the only way to counter that is by putting taller guards on him.  When he plays the Sixers Iggy and Turner guard him a majority of the time.

    @Future_Scout

So I guess you want Rose to be a front runner and act like somebody he’s not? The man is himself and that’s all you can ask for. It’s not like he doesn’t show any emotion. I’ve seen him get hyped up plenty of times. And he’s hands down a top two or three most exciting player in the league right now. And to be honest, carrying on with antics has absolutely nothing to do with winning. That sh*t is all show. We have enough guys in the NBA that’ll keep you entertained in that department.

    @festar35

Who I’d give up depends on who we could get back. But we’re a terrible passing team. We don’t really have great ball movement or anybody who can really break down the defense and create. Collison isn’t that guy. I’m tired of him to be honest.
