This gives Marcus Smart a chance to impress in preseason and team camp.

Slipped in the shower? Raise your hand if you believe that for one second.

Hope you’re right about Smart, I thought it’d be good for him to play behind Rondo. Smart didn’t really silence his critics during the summer league.

I see the Celtics trying to investigate this matter, like the Josh Shaw USC situation.. Only thing is, Rondo is the only witness maybe haha.. I definetly see a trade coming.

Rondo has only played 68 games in the last two seasons so if he misses say a month of this season then that puts him several games down already this year. Don’t forget it’s his contract year so if he wants out of the Celtics and to try to get to a team he would extend with he needs to be on court producing his best all star form to maximize his value and get the best extension. Rondo will be 29 next year so his next contract is likely to be his best shot at a max type deal.

An injury like slipping in a shower can happen to anyone be it a child, an older person or even an elite athlete like Rondo. He’s a 180lbs plus guy so if he falls and puts the weight on his hand it will do damage.

I hope that the injury is fairly minor as a hand injury to any basketball player is always a worry especially a PG.

I’m still not sure which way Danny Ainge is taking the Celtics after the Big 3/Rondo era, They are a team which could look to rebuild via FA as much as the draft and I could see Rondo not wanting to be on a lottery team for possibly his peak years. So I can honestly see a mutual trade being looked at to get Rondo onto a team he would like to resign with so everyone becomes a winner – the Celtics get a trade packet to reflect Rondo’s talent rather than limited assets for a one season rental, the receiving team get Rondo and he gets the chance of a 5 year max deal with them.

kind surprised rondo vetoed that trade to the kings..while they aren’t a serious title contenders..but alot of pgs would love playing with a talented big man like cousins that can score inside and grab a bunch of boards,a wing like rudy gay thats dynamic on the break and shooters like mclemore & stauskas…..

I guess it’s about what Rondo sees as a big market team or what he might have his eyes on long term. Teams like the Lakers and the Knicks immediately spring to mind as possible FA destinations next summer for example. Plus Rondo has always been used to that big stage in Boston so could see the Kings as a backward step. Personally the thought of Rondo feeding DMC and Gay would be a great option I think, I could see him making DMC a 25ppg player and the Kings passionate fans would take to Rondo but I think he has his eyes set on another big market team.

cousins already average 23 pts last season with Isaiah "hate to pass" Thomas as his pg. even without elite pg in rondo, cousins can average 24-25 points this coming season.
