Both are great defenders who struggle on the offensive end. Singleton, after three unspectacular years with Washington went to China, before coming back and is now playing D-League.

Is RHJ’s pro career really going to be any better ?

If RHJ finds himself being drafted by a team with great player development personnel like the Spurs then I imagine his chances of having a better career than Singleton sky rocket. So much depends on where players get drafted and their continued work ethic.

They’re totally different. Both can’t score the ball, but RHJ is a fantastic passer and is basically average to great at everything except shooting the basketball. He have the position versitility, athleticism, passing, and defensive ability to stick in the NBA. Singleton was just came in as a defensive specialist and wasn’t really good at that in Washington

It wasn’t a direct player comparison. RHJ is more athletic, while Singleton is the better defender.

It was more a thread about two SF prospects who both lack offense and to be drafted about the same position. One was a bust, I just wanted to know why some users actually think RHJ will be better ?

You would have had a better case for throwing Julian Wright’s name into the mix over the likes of Chris Singleton.

RHJ has a competitive edge to him that I never saw from Singleton.

I believe he’s going to be a starter in due time and for a playoff team too.

He just finds a way to contribute offensively and his shooting is no worse than Kawhi Leonards was coming in.

You’d hope he ends up in the right situation, but I think he’ll be a steal in the late first round.

I thinke RHJs shot is a little worse than Leonards was but I don’t think people remember how bad of a shooter Kawhi was coming out of SDSU. Ronde has a motor that won’t quit and physically as prepared for NBA as any other player in this draft.

Singleton with the wizards was like shumpert with the knicks…

It’s all about environment for role players like that…

Wizards pre beal were an horrendous place to play or be drafted…

Nowadays with building blocks, vets, star power and IQ, almost every prospect would fit with the wizards.

On RHJ, he’s a SG/SF, that’s a good thing for him, singleton was a SF/PF like a lot of tweener busts.

He’ll be better beacause he’s a year and a half younger, arizona, better IQ, better ball handler, better motor, better work ethic, better personality.

Winning basketball written all over him, end of story.

I see RHJ is mocked to go 15 to the Hawks on another website. I really just cannot see him being all that good in the league….

RHJ can slash, draw fouls and make plays for others.  Singleton couldn’t do any of that.

I dont see the similarities between the two. Chris Singleton was a combo forward. He failed because he didnt have the perimiter skills to be a SF, and didnt have a post game/didnt rebound well enough to be a PF. Rondae is a pure SF, he has a chance to be the next James Posey.
