Mr.Knick 32ParticipantLast season, we thought the draft was weak and partly- we were correct. We see alot of good players but more of less we had maybe 8-10 role players.
This season? I could see 12-16 role players coming out this draft. I think guys like Patrick Patterson, James Anderson, Gani Lawal, Damion James among others are just some of the future role players in the NBA.
Thoughts?

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantDude, every year we get about 10 role players and 1 or 2 stars. This draft is alot deeper, when you get a player like Willie Warren going 2nd round, that’s when you know it’s an average but very deep draft.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantThat’s not true. Some times we get more starter drafts and maybe every 10-12 years we get a star draft.
Plus your last sentence didn’t make sense. How does getting Willie Warren in round 2 make the draft average?

knicksfan7ParticipantYou have to wait anywhere from 3-5 years to make an accurate observation on how a draft was. I do think this draft has an abundance of players who can have long successful careers in the NBA if they understand there roles. If a guy whose best quality is shot blocking and understands that and plays to his strength will have a long career. If the player tries to do other things, and fails it was because he never understood his role on the team.

JNixonParticipantRight now, I think they will be plenty of role players who can make teams. Making mocks for this draft is alot more serious than past drafts because so many of the 2nd rounders can end up making rosters. Team needs and BPA have to be taken into consideration for the 2nd round more than any draft I can remember in the past. This draft will have busts and underachievers like every draft, but I think there will be alot of quality guys who can help make teams better, and also alot of guys who will contribute immediately. It seems.
