RickyRubio9ParticipantRumor has it the Rockets are on the verge of trading Brooks, Landry, and McGrady for Amare and Barbosa. To me, this is a ridiculous deal especially if we are just renting Amare for a season then he can just leave to sign with another team although it’d be 2010. I just don’t like the idea of Brooks leaving us unless we’re going to buy a pick and draft a PG like Nick Calathes, Maynor, Lawson, or Collison. Someone who is a veteran at the college level not a Jrue Holiday Potent type player. Thoughts on this possible trade?

questkatParticipantI think that trade mihlght work. For the suns l, you’re already losing amare but it sucks to give up barbosa although Aaron brooks or even brandon Jennings I think is a solid replacement. For Houston you get rid of a lot, but you get a good one two punch with the bigs in Yao (if healthy) and amare

ckowalskiParticipanti dont like this trade for houston. It seems like barbosa and wafer are now your primary scoring options on the wings if you don’t resign artest and that worries me. I like the inside combo of amare and yao but you give up too much. I would be ok with trading mcgrady but I would try to rework the deal to keep brooks.

Knicksboy34ParticipantI think this is a legit trade for both teams. Many people forget The Rockets have Kyle Lowery. Houston adds a 20-10 guy who they can resign in 2010. Barbosa could be a solid player who can add to the fast backcourt.
The Suns are getting a hustler in Landry, A expiring contract in T-mac and Brooks who can replace Nash (Who i believe they will trade before the trade deadline.

ckowalskiParticipantI didn’t forget about lowry. He is the Rondo of Houston. Decent point guard but can’t make a jumper to save his life.

ZKParticipantI think Lowry could be a very competent point guard if someone would give him a chance.

knicksfreakParticipantI am a big Kyle Lowry fan. He is one of the best PGs in the league at penetrating to the hoop. He is also committed to defense.
