RickyRubio9ParticipantOk, so if the Rockets do get news Yao will be out a year or more before the end of July or so do you believe they should begin rebuilding? If Yao is done forever then…I don’t know. I’m scared to think of us without Yao, since I’ve been a Rockets Fan I can’t imagine him not out there for a season…not a whole season. It’s been said we are willing to offer Brooks and Battier for Rubio.
Why wouldn’t Minny take that? I think that makes them Playoff Contenders. <--Nvm. (Correction) So the real question I want to know is, If Yao is out for the season, do we, The Rockets begin rebuilding or do we try and resign Artest although I don't think he'd want to come back...and keep on trying to win now? If we can seriously get Rubio and we'll probably be a late lottery if all goes bad next season. Just...wanted to hear some opinions...as a Rockets Fan, I'm real...down now. All this recent success we've had and the fact that we can drop all the way down is disappointing. I really don't know what to say or think0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/29/2009 - 1:35pm #173066
llperezLosing Yao hurts big time. But I would’nt completely rebuild yet. Brooks looks like a very good player, and if they resign Artest to go along with Batteir, Scola, and Hayes, that is a tough team. I think they should wait before they blow it up. McGrady is expendable either through a trade, or when he becomes a free agent. If Yao really is done, then they could get some kinda medical exemption from the league. Too many solid pieces to blow it all up.

RickyRubio9ParticipantThe thing is, Why would Artest come back to Houston? No Yao? No ‘Mac? No Winning…We’d possibly make the playoffs still, but real Contenders? Brooks would have to score like crazy along with Scola. That’s the real thing, with Free Agency coming up now Artest might not feel like this is the best place to come AND win…as Yao goes, we go.

llperezBut i just think that with Brooks, Battier, Scola and a few others that they should probably try to just add some pieces to the existing foundation.

RickyRubio9ParticipantI’m sorry about saying Minny would be a playoff team, I forgot they are in the West, you’re right Knicksboy.
They wouldn’t be a playoff team. I was thinking they were in the East. They’d be out still, but better then before.0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/29/2009 - 2:00pm #173081
Knicksboy34ParticipantI think if you said youre deal and a 2010 1st rounder…they would do it.

JNixonParticipantThe Rockets already got shot down by the T’Wolves, they offered Brooks and Battier for Rubio.

MattissickParticipantTHe Rockets have been known to rally around each other and play well without Yao. It will be much different when it’s an entire season though. I feel so bad for him. Neither team should do that because Brooks and Battier does not make the wolves a playoff team and Rubio is more coveted than them.

MasrockIf you want Rubio, you offer a potential star or it’s not going down. None of this sh!t with veterans involved is realistic. The T-Wolves have one of the youngest cores in the NBA. 1 or 2 veterans isn’t going to push them over the top right now. Get realistic. Rubio is a potential star who is very exciting and very marketable. Anything less than another potential star isn’t going to land him.
