Who are the obvious candidates to slide out of the lottery now and what are their potential landing spots?
I automatically think Pery Jones comes to mind, since he has not been buzzing and the potential landing spot for him would be Dallas since they don't have a legit backup 4-man for Dirk and heavily rely on Marion.
I think some of this promise BS is a smoke screen...But I think Jeremy Lamb could be the one that falls just outside the lottery if Both Waiters and Rivers truely did get Lottery promises...between MKG, Barnes, Beal, Lilliard, Waiters and Rivers, where does Lamb fit in along with all the Bigs that are supposed to go in the Lottery too...
I still wonder who's really going to take Lilliard in the lottery, that's just too high for him in my opinion...I know he's been in the top 7 consistantly few the last few weeks but C'mon, some one tell what the appeal is supposed to be...
I find it kind've hard to see Lamb still in the lottery as well.
I got J Lamb , Ross , and Zeller falling to 17-19 in that order.
Most teams aren't even close to making up their minds. If Perry Jones performed well at today's workout in Oakland, he could go 7. You can play out a million scenerios and rationalize anyone slipping. If Perry Jones wins over Golden State, John Henson wins over Sacramento in his workout, and one assumes the promises for Waiters and Rivers are Toronto and Detroit (complete guesses), then it is possible to create a story where New Orleans ends up with Anthony Davis and Andre Drummond (1. Davis, 2. Beal 3. Robinson 4 Barnes 5. Henson 6. Kidd-Gilchrist 7. Jones 8. Waiters 9. Rivers 10. Drummond). Do I think it will happen? No, but that is what happens when the draft is close enough to have some information though not all, and on top of that not all that you can gather is worth anything.
I don't believe this promise bs
I think he should fall just outside the lottery too...Why is he os high on everyone's board...He can't be a better NBA pg than Marquis Teugue, Tayshawn Taylor or even Malik Wayns, can he??? Marshall and Machado also seem like better longterm Pg's than Lilliard, who I only like for scoring purposes...
I agree with you guys and before I even opened this thread up and saw the title....I immediately though Jeremy Lamb and PJIII....that is of course provided these "promises" are true and they are lottery promises.
Lillard wont fall out of the lottery, too many lottery teams would want to grab him him because of PG needs.
Henson, Leonard, and likely Sullinger are pretty solidified as lottery picks.
Marshall, Moultrie, Zeller, and Terrence Jones are all fringe lottery picks. They could go in the lottery but were never solidified.
So once again, although they could go in the lottery, my two odd men out are PJIII and Lamb. Maybe Terrence Ross but I think he has high lottery interest.
Lillard seems to be in most eyes the most complete PG draft prospect when you consider all things. He can play PG. Not pure like KMarsh, but he is a better athlete who doesnt look to face the defensive obstacles that Marshall will. While Teague may have the most upside and athleticism, Lillard is a scorer who can shoot. Teague may not end up being much better than Jeff, but Lillard has the skills to take a risk on. He has excellent size and can get his shot off. While he is not a pure point guard yet if he will ever be, he surely is a better decision maker than someone like Tyshawn Taylor and probably Teague too. In the NBA where he doesnt have to carry a team offensively like he did in college, his decision making figures to improve even more. So all the players you named all have something they can do better than Lillard, but again, I said ALL things considered in one player.
I heard waiters has a spot but when did rivers get promised one?
