Delon Wright, Fred VanVleet, Jakob Poeltl, or Pascal Siakam. None were invited.

    smdh…

Others have more talented skillsets, but that’s the best group of young basketball players in the league as of right now. In their 307 minutes on the floor together, Toronto is +167. Best bench in the NBA. Don’t forget OG, who rounds out the youthful group ranked #1-5 on the Raps in net rating.

Sorry to get a little off topic here, but this ain’t your 2014-2017 Raptors folks. These kids will be the reason Toronto gets some W’s vs. Boston and/or Cleveland in the playoffs. The way they execute winning, team-basketball on both ends of the floor is a treat to watch.

Yeah I mentioned this when the rosters were announced. Seems they wanted to fill positional needs with Ntilikina ahead of Poeltl and Siakam. Ccould probably make a case to replace Dillon Brooks but only due to team success. On the USA team the only arguement you can make for Van Vleet is to replace Prince but thats a tough arguement to make as Prince has played well himself. Im sure the 4 or 5 Atlanta fans would be upset if Prince wasnt invited. Delon Wright isnt eligible this is his third year.

there were obvious differences in the World and US team’s approach to the game.  The US team was not having fun out there, and had the AAU mentality of throwing down a flashy dunk…while the world team was doing the fundamentals and hitting their 3s and making good passes.

I’ve always loved Spurs/Warriors/Nash-Suns basketball/Championship-Dirk team basketball, so I hate the American style of play and AAU and the Zion Williams and youtube highlights are ruining the game here.

Guys that particularly impressed on the American side were John Collins.  To say you think Dennis Smith Jr. is going to win MVP is laughable because the World team is so much better its a joke.

None of them, especially Brandon Ingram, did anything.  Brandon Ingram looks so young out there and weak mentally where he shoudl’ve been a "host" of the rising stars game and tried to make a name for himself, I just think he was physically overmatched by guys like Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid who steal the show.

    The most impressive players were:

Embiid (there is no other big man in that game that comes close to him, only his second year and still hasn’t played a full season, its like other plays just fall to the side when he tries),

Markkanen (dude is a stud can shoot and very solidly built and great genes),

Simmons (just does what he does great passer and physically imposing),

     Bogdanovic (really like his fundamentals)

Hield (solid shooter, he and Bogdanovic just need to mature for Sac, Fox did not impress at all).

Mitchell (great power guard, can do it all)

Murray (took some bad shots but was solid no surprise always knew he could play)

Saric (great shooting he’s been on a tear)

John Collins (for a guy thats playing on a bad Hawks team, his athleticism stands out he can do what Simmons can do, only he can’t dribble the ball at all).

Kris Dunn, Dennis Smith Jr, Fox – these guys just don’t excite me.  Very pigeon holed guards with sneaky athleticism but very limited.

I am more interested in the psychology of the game than I am in the statistics.

I know basketball, I play it 3x a week, and I understand how important the mind is in basksetball.

If oyu think the Americans were impressive at all, I don’t know what to say.  They were overwhelmed fundamentally.

hoenstly don’t get the negativity on here.  I’m entitled to my opinion just like anyone is to their opinion.

I don’t care if I get negged at all I still speak what I see.

Y’all need to relax.  I chose to analyze and comment on the very thing Kenny Smith and Barkley were discussing at halftime of the stupid rising stars game…how the American players play relative to how the world players play…

There is definitely a difference in basketball culture.  The Americans need to do a much better job at learning fundamentals of the game.

You’re right, you are entitled to your own opinion. But, you keep getting thumbs downed because your opinion is consistently wrong. It’s not rocket science.

Did you really just write that Dennis Smith has sneaky athleticism? He might be the best pure athlete in the league. There’s nothing sneaky about it.

damn you are very critical of every word i write.  Smith Jr. may not be sneaky athletic, he might only be athletic.  There is no way that kid, the way he plays, lends itself to championship basketball.

Smith Jr., Fox, etc… there is a way to play the game the right way.  Their athleticism or speed does nothing for me out there if you can’t make the right pass.

Again, he’s not sneaky athletic or just athletic. He’s an absolute top of the food chain freak athlete.

You’re basing all of this off of an incomplete rookie season and a meaningless all-star game? Makes sense.
