ESPN is saying that HOFer Moses Malone has died at the age of 60.

thats too young. First Darryl Dawkins, now Moses. Tough month for Sixers fans.

can someone post the ESPN link?

Here’s the link. It’s just too sad. He was only 60. Way too young. My prayers are out there for the family. :`(

Another player gone way too soon. Moses career stats and achievements speak for themselves. He actually outranks the likes of KG and Tim Duncan in most stats categories. He was certainly the best player in the NBA for several years and one of a very select band of players to have been voted a triple MVP. The only guys who have won more MVP awards than him are Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem, Michael Jordan and LeBron so that shows how good Moses was IMO.

Great points. Moses Malone was a dominant player and in my opinion very under rated when discussing the all time greats.

FO, FO, FO!! lol……..As a kid i remember him making that prediction of sweeping everyone they will face in the playoffs……And when his Rockets faced the Celtics in 1981,he boasted he could get 4 guys from his hometown and beat them……

Moses wasnt flashy, just Strictly Business on the court..Relentless on the Boards…1 of the Top 10 Centers of All Time….

Arguably he could be considered one of the top 5 centers of all time. Top 3 are set in stone (Russell, Kareem, Wilt….no specific order).  Then you have The Dream, Malone, Shaq in consideration for the other two spots.

A top 20 player ever – he was always a favorite. I love LOVE his rebounding move of lurking out of bounds and can’t believe no one has stolen it.

Unless you saw Moses play it’s difficult to understand just how Great this guy really was… You have to remember that he Utterly Destroyed teams at a time when the NBA boasted Several SUPER teams… the Lakers, Celtics & Sixers were ALL Super teams Moses was just consistently Dominant for a 20 year stretch… In one 5 year stretch from the age of 23 to 27 from 1979 through 1983 Moses Averaged 26.8 ppg; 15.4 reb, 1.6 blocks & a FG% of 52% – these are video game #’s & Moses put them up Every night…. The best compliment I can give Moses is that he was a True Professional & a 100% Class human being… R.I.P. Moses….
