Lotto StudParticipantWhat lies ahead for Rubio’s future? Does he come over and play in the NBA, or does he remain overseas forever and give us the run-around that he will play in the NBA?
If Rubio comes over what team will he play for?

RUDEBOY_ParticipantI think Rubio has plans to become a nba player..But not with the T-Wolves ,and not with a small market team, that doesnt have a rich tradition….Memphis had plan to draft him with the 2nd pick..But were told by Rubio’s folks that he was remaining overseas…I see him possibly going to New York,Portland or the Warriors for Monta Ellis….
His style of play is better suited for the nba ..Where he’ll be a Steve Nash type of point guard…

ninja12ParticipantNash is actually one of the best shooters in NBA history. his passing skills obscure that fact. Rubio has the reputation of a poor shooter. If he can’t shoot the ball well, defenses will sag off him to guard his teammates. He will be forced to use one-on-one skills and, though he may be okay at that, is not the formula for his long-term success in the league.

bigblackNbeautifulParticipantt wolves

Meditated StatesParticipantI think he has not improved much over there the last few years. I also believe trading Monta Ellis for an unproven definately not surefire star would be stupid. He’s not killing it overseas so what makes you think they would trade Ellis for him? I have a feeling he will be a solid PG, but no where near all star or superstar status. I think Brandon Jennings set us straight on this kid back during the draft."Hype"

jsev24ParticipantI really hope Rubio doesn’t spurn the NBA ala Fran Vasquez. He will be a solid player in these league at worst. His top of the line court vision and basketball IQ is tailor-made for the league. If he scratches even a surface of his vast potential, he will be a very special player.

WizardofOzParticipantI think he comes over. no matter the team. He has had a VERY up-and-down season so far at FC Barcelona, and he should be very happy a team wants him as much as the T-Wolves. He hasn’t imporoved like everybody though he would, and I would be shocked if he stayed overseas.

kobyzParticipanthe is Rajon Rondo type of PG

ShamoN 513ParticipantHe is no Rondo or Nash…… Just Rubio, and thats good enough.

Meditated StatesParticipantI do not believe he can penetrate against NBA guards like Rondo. No player can keep Rondo out the lane. Is Rubio that kind of player? No. He is good on the brake similar to Rondo, but does not have the speed and quickness to do what Rondo does in halfcourt sets.

SwatLakeCityParticipantHe has the passing of Jose Calderon but the shot of Andre Miller. (Which isn’t very good) He’ll come over but I’m not sure which team he’ll play for. Maybe the Blazers while the Blazers send Batum to the Wolves for him or maybe the Wolves but he’ll have to outplay Flynn, and Ridnour since he is an unknown who knows if he can do that.

the lake showTwolves. He’s said he’s playing for them , the team says he’s playing for them, His agent has said he’s playing for them, some rumors says’s he wants to play somewhere else but they hold alot less weight then what the player, agent and team says.

ilike.panochasParticipantIve never seen him play, but based on scouting reports, he sounds like Kirk Heinrich with a little better court vision. Practically the same size, both are very good defensive PG, and Heinrich can be an inconsistent shooter much like Rubio, although I can see Rubio averagiing much more APG, which makes him very good PG in the future. If I had to predict his career numbers, I would probably go with 15PPG 8APG 4RPG 1.50SPG.

balla619ParticipantWhat about Rubio playing for the Clips or Lakers in 2 years?

the lake showOnly if he got traded by the Wolves. Rookies have that rookie contract so they are not free agents and cant go to another team unless they are traded

European BallerParticipantHe is an incredibly overrated player by all NBA fans. He is nothing but an average (at best) level player in Europe.

When ever someone says this I always laugh. Did you ever watch the Olympics? The kid was playing against the best at their best, and still managed to hold his own. He might not be the next Pistol Pete, but when guys like Acie Law and DJ Augustine are getting drafted in the lottery it makes Rubio look alot more promising.

Lotto StudParticipantWhat are the odds he comes over this upcoming season or the season after?
Rubio is demanding a major market city, but I just don’t see it happening unless he goes to Brooklyn. Majority of the major market teams are set at the PG position.
