Ricky Rubio... under rated to over rated in 2 weeks?

At draft time, many a juvenile poster on this site have suggested that the Wolves would be lucky to receive a mid 1st round pick for Ricky Rubio. Now that he has actually played some NBA games where does he rank as a pt guard today and where will be in 2 or 3 years from now? His butt has been smooched so much lately it's hard to keep up... even though he's fun to watch.

Right now I think he is

Right now I think he is already top 10. In the next 2-3 years if he develops like we all think he can, i could see him being 2nd only to Rose.

He isn't top 10 yet, but I

He isn't top 10 yet, but I think he will be by the end of the year. I sincerely doubt he will ever be top two. He would have to overtake all of but one of these: Rondo, Paul, Rose, Williams or Westbrook (maybe Wall, some other guys not in the league yet) who are all fairly young and I don't see it happening.

Nah next 2-3 years being

Nah next 2-3 years being second to only Rose?

Chris Paul will only be 28-29

Deron Williams will only be 30

Rajon Rondo will only be 27-28

And also you still have Westbrook who has a ton of potential and is already a force in the league, Kyrie Irving who will damn sure be alot better at only 21-22 in that time span, and also even though he is struggling mightly right now John Wall only be 23-24, I see Rubio def being top 10, but number 2 point guard in the League? Nah

2-3 yrs Rose Paul Williams

2-3 yrs

Rose

Paul

Williams

Rondo

Westbrook

Sleepers....Lowry,Wall,Irving,Jennings,Curry(Depending on their developments)

And developments of other players as well, it's just wayyy to early to tell.

For all we know he could have a great rookie year, and then have a John Wall type second year, just to early to call Rubio a top 5 pg in the next 2-3 yrs, I see top 10, not top 5

He'll most probably be top 5

He'll most probably be top 5 before long, to me he is a replica of Jason Kidd to a certain extent, making his teammates better (Anthony Randolph looks genuine now). Similar level of flair and always has the defense on edge about where on earth he's going to throw the rock. I know it's early but he's a hall of fame talent, the question is whether he can maximise that talent.

That can be said about a few

That can be said about a few guards now:

Paul

Williams

Rondo

Rose

Westbrook

Wall

All have hall of fame talent, can they maximize it, and they will be around in the next 2-3 years as well.

You guys are jumping the gun a little too early, Kyrie Irving is just as impressive as Rubio.

Wait before you guys declare him the second coming, he still has a while before he is a top 5 pg, I dont see none of those guys mentioned before him(except Wall who isn't playing well right now) slowing down anytime soon.

Here is rubio from a stat'

Here is rubio from a stat' point of view through 12 games : 11 pts (46% 45% 75%) 8.3 ass 4.1 reb 2 st 3.2 to 2 f

For a rookie that is absolutely great. Moreover if you watched the T'wolves's games (I watched 8 of them) you noticed that rubio's stat' don't reflect his influence on the game and on his team play (some big wins and lots of lose only by 4 points or less). He's so much more valuable than his stat' reflect. And the atmosphere around the team is pretty exiting.I was a big fan of rubio before all this hype, even when he was struggling in barcelone last year. He's one of the last REAL point guard and he's so fun to watch with effectiveness.

He can still improve on some points : shoot consistency (3pts,to become a real strength), left penetration, some TO, and defense one on one (he's a good help D), durability (physically to avoid injuries). All those areas are rather easy to work on for a rookie (especially for a youngman with a very good work ethic).

So I don't have any doubt on his futur success and he should become a top 5 PG in this league in the next 2 years (with rose, rondo, paul, williams).

It wasn’t so long ago that

It wasn’t so long ago that O.J. Mayo was one of the hottest names in the rumor mill. The Indiana Pacers tried to get him several times, the Minnesota Timberwolves were among the other interested teams, and yet Mayo found himself looking for a home in free agency this summer.

Instead, injuries and a lack

Instead, injuries and a lack of postseason success have defined McGrady’s career, and now at 33 years old he seems to have aged at a faster pace than his peers. Even as we talk about how Steve Nash, Jason Kidd and Grant Hill still have plenty left in the tank despite pushing 40, McGrady looks more like a former NBA player.42131234ssda

As for Rondo, obviously any sight of his jersey does not bring smiles in Miami. But what about fans wearing Allen's Celtics jersey to Heat games?

"You're supporting the player, so I'm kind of mixed," Allen said. "I'm curious how much more of that we'll get throughout the year... (The woman with Allen's No. 20 jersey) should have put (the one wearing Rondo's No. 9) to the side and said, 'We need to boo this one, not the 20."'

Allen shot 5-of-11, including 3-of-7 from three point range, for 13 points. He didn't look like a 37-year-old guy out there.j5y44534

Miami also has James Jones,

Miami also has James Jones, who once won the contest during All-Star Weekend, and Rashard Lewis, once a potent big-man threat from the perimeter. But Jones was 0-of-3 Wednesday on long shots and Lewis was 0-of-5.h43232faa

Regardless of whether Lewis,

Regardless of whether Lewis, who shot 23.9 percent from three-point range last season to drop his career percentage to 38.8, can regain his former stroke, the Heat have plenty of three-point possibilities. James talked about how they might play at times with one big man inside and four guys outside.gdg43

"Me either," James cracked when it was suggested that few thought James, once mostly a perimeter player, ever would have that role. "But we can do it."j3563434

Despite rumblings that there

Despite rumblings that there is optimism on both sides that a deal will get done before the October 31st deadline, an extension is no sure thing. There’s no telling what kind of payday Gibson could get in restricted free agency this summer, and there’s a chance taking an extension now wouldn’t be the most financially lucrative decision for him.yhe43434

“Of course it’s on your mind, but at the same time you really can’t do much about it,” Gibson said. “You know you should have the agent take care of that, let the front office take care of that, so all you really have to focus on is playing basketball. That’s what you can control.”vart3232

So while Gibson looks to

So while Gibson looks to improve and play a bigger role as Chicago’s unquestioned sixth man this year, he’ll do so either as an imminent restricted free agent or as a re-upped veteran who will have the benefit of knowing his future with the organization.3232323

Both sides would rather the latter, which is why they will work hard to get something done in the coming weeks. Doing so is in the best interest for both Gibson and the Bulls.gd

According to recent research,

According to recent research, it is estimated that approximately 40 million American adults suffer from some form of anxiety disorder. That’s nearly 18 percent of the population over the age of 18. I assume that number is higher than most of us would have suspected; and I also assume the reason we underestimate the number of those afflicted is partly because so many of us that suffer from anxiety do so quietly and privately.sfa232323

As someone who has dealt with anxiety and panic attacks for most of my adult life, I speak from experience. In fact, I have close friends who will learn of my anxiety for the first time only if they happen to stumble across this paragraph.cafetgewr

I certainly won’t attempt to speak for everyone battling the disease, but I will freely admit that one reason I rarely share my experiences with others is due to a certain level of shame/embarrassment that accompanies openly admitting that I occasionally become exceedingly anxious at the mere thought of seemingly mundane tasks that wouldn’t phase my wife or my five-year-old niece.sfdad

Unsurprisingly, many doctors

Unsurprisingly, many doctors who have studied anxiety estimate that the number of undiagnosed anxiety sufferers are significant, especially among males. Studies show that some of these undiagnosed individuals often turn to alcohol or other drugs in order to self-medicate and dull the symptoms. Sadly, today’s society often promotes a form of masculinity where “being afraid” is tantamount to being “weak,” or worse, in the opinion of some.hdgf3232

For those not familiar with

For those not familiar with his background, White suffers from severe anxiety disorder. White, to his credit, has been extremely forthcoming about his illness (he even allowed a fascinating inside look into the gift and the curse that was the day he got drafted in to the NBA), which has obviously impacted all facets of his life, including traveling to and from games by plane while at Iowa State. shhvbdfa

Rockets General Manager Daryl

Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey, the man who made the final decision to draft White, was fully aware of the unique issues and potential problems the Rockets would face when they selected White with the 16th overall pick in June. Houston was getting one of the most talented and versatile young players on the planet (Royce, as a freshman, led his college team in points, assists, rebounds, blocks and steals), but they were also getting a young man that would have to deal with a unique set of challenges throughout is career.hfdgsfgds

If Smith were to sign an

If Smith were to sign an extension before June 30, the deal could only be for a maximum of three years. By simply waiting until the start of free agency Smith would be eligible to sign a five year contract with the club. The simple math in this instance shows if Smith signed early he’d be leaving at the very least $25-30 million on the table.
