Ricky Rubio has alot of hype ,but.....

Ricky Rubio has alot of hype ,but can a few areas of his game be underrated?
1)SPEED-people say he is not as fast a some of the point guards in the nba but, I think he's faster than some people give him credit for
2)JUMPER-doesn't have the greatest mechanics but his 3pt percentage and ft percentage are very good and he can still develop better mechanics which will make it much easier for him to get his shot off not to mention he's taller than alot of nba point guards
3)D-He was player of the year in Spain and he plays smart,pest-like D, CP3 and A.I. get their steals off gambling but Rubio gets them because of his IQ and his lock-down D,him not being as quick as a CP3,A.I.,and a Derrick Rose won't hurt him that much because i think he can make up 4 it with his IQ and instincts
4)he's not the greatest athlete but he's a better athlete than nash, kidd, billups, calderon, and duhon.

PLEASE TELL ME WHAT U THINK

Rubio would be great

If he went to Sacramento as he would be a good pick and roll person for Thompson and Hawes but this is very unlikely

he is not a lock down

he is not a lock down defender..ive watched 9 of his games and he has trouble against quick american guards which was shown when tarq dean lousi bullock and chris thomas lit him up..what makes you think hes faster then it seems?..youtube clips?..he shoots 39 percent from 3pt range and 40 from a much shorter three point line..9pts a game and 6 ast and leads spain in turnovers...in what way is he considered underrated if anything hes overrated..hes not a better athlete then billups now and definatly not when billups was young..maybe better then kid cuz of kids age ..and he never got player of the year he got young player of the year which is given to the best "european"player 22 years of age or younger

WOW

he shots 39 percent from 4pt range and 40 from a much shorter three point range..9pts a game and 6 ast and leads spain in turnovers..

JOSH HUESTIS this is what tells me u know absolutely nothing about basketball first of all what the hell is 4pt range and second of all he plays 20something minutes a game so 9pts and 6asts are good #'s .oh and it isn't shots 39 percent it's shoots

From what i have seen he does try to play defense BUT

I guarantee he is not a lock down defender in the NBA. He might not be bad, but forget insticts you need quickness to stick a lot of the POINTS in the NBA.I think the kid has potential, but I think he is overrated. His IQ should make him a good facilitator on offense, but a lock down defender no. I don't think he will be a great scorer either. A good passer who runs the team well on the brake. It remains to be seen what damage he can do in the lane against NBA talent. The olympics don't count to me thats international rules, and he did not tear it up.

mikenike

for one i ment 3pt range for 2 ive been playing basketball in europe for a couple years now including in spain in the second division...9pts is good not great and im pretty sure you have never seen him play other than you tube so before you talk about how good a player is gonna be you should first watch him play instead of watching you tube and just piggy backing on what someone else said about him..and 2 since you wanna point out i put 4 instead of 3 you should get youre facts right about player of the year before just writing about something you obviously know nothing about so dont get but hurt because i called you out on youre wrong info.........and since you want to get on my grammar, you do know you ended one of youre sentences with "for", which is a preposition?...and wouldnt one of the sentences make more sense if you said get there steals off OF gambling?...so before you wanna criticize someone for there post make sure youres is perfect

i agree with youre post ..i think he has the potential to be very good but right now i just dont see him comming in and dominating and it always makes me laugh when alot of posters who have never seen him play other than you tube clips or the olympics( in which he averaged 4pts 3ast) say hes gonna come to the nba and be a superstar fresh out of the gate. what they dont understand is for one hes young 2 the rules are very different over there then they are in the nba

Rubio is 18 years old and

Rubio is 18 years old and just averaged 10 pts and 6ast in a professional league. People seem to forget he is 18. 18. You guys are basically hammering Rubio for not being an all star caliber player at 18.

whos hammering him.no one

whos hammering him.no one said hes not a good player. im just saying its not realistic to think hes gonna come over in year one and dominate like alot of posters seem to think which would categorize him as overrated by some of these posters standards

I'm not saying he should be an all star at 18

He is talked about like he is the second coming. I saw Dirk when he was 18 and I could tell he would be ready for the NBA game with not much adjustment. 7 footer with his athleticism and shot. I just am not as impressed with Rubio as I was with Dirk. Rubio is talked about like he will be that ready. I don't think so. Yes I think he will be a starting point in the NBA for a while. I am not sold on the superstardom like I was with Dirk. We will see if his game translates.
