Ricky Davis is in the Knicks mini camp

from Jared Zwerling https://twitter.com/JaredZwerling/status/379762942930980865

If Ricky Davis makes the team, good for him and a great comeback to the league.

But does anyone see this ending well if the Knicks have Ricky Davis and J.R. Smith (among others) on the same team?

The Knicks already have one of the goofiest rosters ever assembled, like a glorified version of the Kings we all made fun of the last few years.

He probably won't make the

He probably won't make the roster.

He was such an athletic guy who just didn't have the skill level development needed to truly become a great player in the League.

The comparison I've always had for him was "Vince Carter Lite". He could rebound, make plays for others, put up 20 a game, all while making Sports Centre on a nightly basis but just wasn't at the level of a Carter or Stackhouse.

It'll be interesting to see how much he has left in the tank.

If he's improved his all-around skill level and stopped relying on his raw athleticism, he might have a shot somewhere in the league, if not with the Knicks.

Davis always had the skill to

Davis always had the skill to compete at a high level, but he never focussed any (like literally zero) of his attention on the defensive side of the ball. That and he was a horribly inefficient volume-scorer. The guy could always make plays for others though, and in my opinion was always kind of underrated as a playmaker. I'll be keeping a close eye on how he competes in the mini-camp and if he gets any more looks from other ball clubs in the coming weeks.

Oh, and it should also be

Oh, and it should also be known that Patrick O'Bryant, yes THE Patrick O'Bryant, is trying out for a spot on the Charlotte Bobcats via a training camp invite.

So there's that.

I don't know if he was

I don't know if he was injured or what, but his last two seasons with the Clippers were garbage. I hated every time Mike Dunleavy put him in the game.

Why hasnt anyone signed Rip

Why hasnt anyone signed Rip Hamilton? Arenas is washed up, Ricky Davis is trash...Rip Hamilton is past his prime, but still averaged 10 pts/2rbs/2assts,shot .337 from 3 point range,83% ft..... A team like Washington thats trying to make the playoffs, could use an experienced veteran like Rip...

He might get a triple double

He might get a triple double by intentionally missing a shot and following up it up with a layup.

One of my favorite all time nba moments.
